Comedy palate cleanser. Robert Jenrick about to grandstand but reminded of his defection from one party to another this year is gold. The timing. First line great. Second line superb but crowd not recovered from the first to fully appreciate it 😊

In the midst of a housing crisis, the number of people in emergency accommodation rose again last month to 17,517, including 5,571 children. Meanwhile, hundreds of Georgian townhouses in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Waterford, Galway, Kilkenny, Drogheda, Dundalk, Sligo, Athlone, Wexford, Ennis, and Tralee remain vacant — and, in many cases, derelict — and could be converted into much-needed apartments for rent or sale. If you’re thinking about tackling a vacant or derelict Georgian townhouse, I’ve put together this guide to useful links, grants, and supports in Ireland, including funding options to help bring homes back to life. I’ve also added worked client scenarios showing which grants to stack, when to apply, and when payments are made. The latest addition to the worked client scenarios section covers a Georgian townhouse multi-unit conversion of a Protected Structure into apartments for rent. @davidtobin100 It’s the tinny bollards that get me. They’re all dented and crooked now. Who could have predicted?

Urban Vs rural debate. Don't fall for the Dublin trap. Cork is the bigger urban driver of economic activity. Pharma and Apple. Massive corporation tax revenue. We're all subsidised by Cork.

Stunning designs. @limerick2030, why can we not have something like this for Cleeves instead of bland apartment blocks? @LDA_Ireland This would have been stunning at the gasworks site. Government agencies should be leading the way in restoring character and sense of place.

My visual shows some of the houses demolished in St Mary’s Park, Limerick City, one of the city’s oldest estates (built in the 1930s), which once had 463 houses. Of interest, more than 1,200 homes have been demolished across Limerick’s four regeneration areas, Moyross, Southill, St Mary’s Park, and Ballinacurra Weston, as part of the €400 million Limerick Regeneration project, one of the largest regeneration programmes in the State. Launched around 2007–2008 by the Irish Government, most demolitions involved vacant or derelict homes and took place between 2008 and 2012. Council reveals number of houses demolished as part of Limerick Regeneration: Nick Rabbitts 08 July 2021 'MORE than 1,200 homes have been knocked in Limerick’s four regeneration areas – but only 149 have been built in their place.' limerickleader.ie/news/news/6476… #HousingCrisis #DerelictIreland #VacantIreland #Limerick
