What Purgatory Achieves: 1. Our final sanctification so we may enter heaven, as nothing unclean enters (Rev 21:27). 2. Perfect justice will be applied, dealing with the temporal effects of our sin. While we are forgiven from the eternal consequences of our sin, we still have temporal effects. We will face the full reality of the harm we have caused. Everything will come into the light. Nothing is simply ignored or erased. In fact, to pretend as if the hurt we have experienced or made others experience never mattered goes against the very character of God. In the new creation, every wrong is set right. Completely addressed and healed, not swept under the rug. And our complete restoration will come, whether in this life through repentance, penance, and restitution, or post death through purification. No one escapes the reality of what their sins have done, even when they are forgiven. Forgiveness does not negate justice. But more than a retributive justice, it is restorative. Think of a surgeon cutting away the diseased tissue of vital organ. The organ is good, but to allow the disease to remain unchecked would kill the patient. It’s painful, but necessary and good. Hurts must be healed. And yes, the treatment sometimes stings.

@SwordMasterPub Omnipresence allows for this. I am going out with the fam. Since you dont have a traditional view of The Trinity, I am not sure this will make sense to you. Thank you for the discussion.

@IIIFriend He did not have a body to crucify before creation. Unless you want to argue He was always human, in which case you contradict much of Hebrews and the rest of the NT which says He "took on" flesh, that He "became flesh".

Revelation 13:8 is not talking about the creation of the physical universe, but the new kosmos that began at the cross, the new heavens and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. Jesus wasn't slain eternally. He was slain in a moment of time. He wasn't slain before Adam. He was slain as the new Adam. Revelation is a book of signs. Its meat, not milk, and if you are not prepared to chew on it a bit to digest it properly, you are going to choke on it. "He that hath an ear, let him hear." It means pay attention, read, understand what has really been written.

@wilsonhlthcoach I like the fat. The trimmers usually are working to make sure the size is consistent to get consistent cooking. Also, the hard white fat can be hard to render. It makes great tallow though.

I was told that I should've trimmed the fat before smoking the brisket. We love fat, so I left it on. What do you think? Trim the fat or leave it on?

@SDSLLC_USA They discovered the cannon, but they didn't decide it. God decided that through His inspiration. The Ethiopian Bible was a collection that was sent to them. They didn't discern which were in or not, they just threw them all togther. That was hundreds of years after the cannon.

If Biblical scholars hundreds of years after the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ can decide which books of the Bible were "just made up" and removed them from the texts so that we can't learn from them, then how do we know that the entire Bible isn't "just made up"? It's a fair and honest question. Insults will not be tolerated, this is a post for discussion.

@SwordMasterPub You warned me about Revelation, so I let you know I am to meat. I am not on milk. He is Omnipresent. He is in all time, both eternity past and eternity future now. He was already crucified and was not yet also.

@IIIFriend Nothing you wrote is an argument against what I wrote nor in favor of your position. You just bragged about yourself and made yourself the standard.

@swamthetiber25 @SwordMasterPub At the resurrection, my body will become as it was suppose to be. As it was before the fall. No more brokenness. There is no place to be purified more, other than the sanctification that happens while we are here.

@swamthetiber25 @SwordMasterPub To be a little clearer here, my life here requires sanctification. Scripture is very clear there. That is so I am a useful vessel while I am still here. However, once I pass, I go to judgement. The Bible tells me that Jesus paid so that my spirit can be made new now.

Atheists, can you explain (without condescension or sarcasm or anger) why you don't believe in God?

@SwordMasterPub @swamthetiber25 So, we earned death. Both physically and spiritually. The death of the perfect lamb, spoken of since the OT is now completed by the death of The Lamb of God. John the Baptist said it, Behold The Lamb of God of comes to take away the sins of the world.

@SwordMasterPub @swamthetiber25 He paid what we could not. He allows God's righteous justice to be satisfied. His death paid our toll. He offers us life because He is The Resurrection and The Life.

@IIIFriend @swamthetiber25 Slain before the earth was created? What does His worth have to do with making human sacrifice to appease an angry God somehow just? What does His value have to do with making God punishing Him instead of us righteous and good and not evil?
