John 3:16 only speaks of faith saving. 2 Cor 7:10 only speaks of repentance saving. Romans 8:24 only speaks of hope saving. Mark 13:13 only speaks of enduring to the end saving. 1 Peter 3:21 only speaks of baptism saving. Ephesians 2:5 only speaks of grace saving. Mark 8:35 only speaks of losing one's life for Christ's sake saves. Acts 2:21 only speaks of calling on the Lord saves Acts 2:40 only says you save yourself Acts 11:14 only says certain words save Romans 5:9 only says His blood saves Romans 5:10 only says His life saves 1 Corinthians 1:21 only says preaching saves 1 Corinthians 7:16 only says a spouse can save It is willful ignorance in the extreme to think that any one of these passages, or passages like them, teaches that only that thing saves.

1. You are preaching a false gospel if you are telling Christians that they can lose their salvation. 2. Genuine Christians would never forsake Christ, as Christ would never forsake them.

In the church, its a reference to those who bind on others matters of opinion related to things that bring pleasure, physical comfort or are considered a luxury as things that are sinful without scriptural foundation for the condemnation. Generally it creates a faux-holier-than-thou mentality and unnecessary division that would best be solved by a half-crazed Mississippi squirrel.

Question for mainstream authors: Do you suddenly ever realize, midway through the paragraph of chapter three, that you need to calculate the time it would take a man to fall down an airless tunnel piercing to the core of the moon, and what his end velocity would be? The moon is 0.16 gee, or 1.62 m/sec^2. And then, if he decelerates, how many gee forces a trained astronaut can take before blacking out? How long it takes him to recover if he does black out? Or is that something that only happens to science fiction writers?

The sacrifice at the altar was an offering of life, not death. You offered up the life of the lamb to God as a sweet savor. You offer up your life as a living sacrifice to God. Christ offered His LIFE on the cross, not death. If marriage is going to be compared as a sacrifice, you aren't dying. You are giving up your life as a living sacrifice for another (and theirs for you).

@SwordMasterPub I know this frustration all too well. This, and other reasons, is why we had logic incorporated into our daughter's education. It's so refreshing to see your own child able to reason effectively and regularly...and do so better than many adults who rely on emoting instead.

This is, sadly, the usual end of this conversation for most. They assert things that aren't in scripture, then when asked for scripture, they just...stop. When shown scripture that controverts their assertions, they don't know what to do with it other than to pit scripture against scripture. I blame public schools largely. People have lost the ability, the education, to reason properly and they do not have the endurance to see the conversation through to the end.

in christianity, do new demons get created? As the human population has exploded, presumably the human-to-demon ratio is now skewed. Or did god make extra demons with population growth in mind? If so could we estimate our future population based on total demon numbers today?

I did not say that Christ took on original sin, that’s crazy. I was arguing that’s an entailment within the Calvinist system. In the Orthodox view, per St. Maximus the Confessor, the logos of human nature didn’t change during the fall—the tropos did. Not the nature itself, but its mode of existence. Ergo, this is not a problem in Holy Orthodoxy. It is in Calvinism.

@ThomasA45573720 @Atavulph @KingMic92357513 The words don't say that? I'm talking about the meanings of prepositions. He is writing this Psalm directly after he is confronted with his sin with Bathsheba. There is no "second birth" language in Psa 51.
