The cases of transmission from dental workers to their clients are largely underestimated. Back in 2020, in Quebec, it was frequently claimed that there had been no outbreaks in dental offices, even though I had been sick for six months from an infection contracted while working in a dental clinic. There was an outbreak in the clinic, with at least four people affected, including myself. I later learned that there were other cases in another clinics, but officially, authorities report that nothing happened. This is false and impossible.

Great to see filters in every treatment room and the dentist office. But not in the waiting room. Why is that? Do dentists still need to be educated on air pathogens?

I don't understand why some doctors are against wearing masks. One of our friends caught COVID after visiting a dentist who was coughing and not wearing a mask. Aren't doctors are trained for many years? For me it's like engineers don't know the difference between plastic and metal.

@AndrewH83965932 @Engineer_Wong Yes, the treatment room where you as the patient has to remove your respirator and where you are most vulnerable, that is what counts. Closed room, cleaned air, N95s on dental team. Your dentist is on the ball!

@IJSchaeffer @Engineer_Wong My dentist does the UV in the HVAC and HEPA filter units at each treatment area. Hygienists all mask. The receptionist has been slacking off, but I can mask there. It's a good start.

@LindaSepp @Engineer_Wong Yes, we are fragrance free and latex free. We do have a few patients with chemical and environmental sensitivities and we do our best to provide information about our materials so they can make the best decision for their individual needs.

@ktho641521 @Engineer_Wong Yes! Our practice is established in the community, open since 1983 and under my leadership since 2009. We help people get healthy so they need less dental treatment, hence we are always able to accept new patients 🙏

@savs__says @itstimredd @Engineer_Wong I'm so sorry for that. I understand your frustration. Our guidelines come from our college, and the college gets their main instruction from the Ministry of Health. And most dentists will not do more than mandated unfortunately 😕

@IJSchaeffer @itstimredd @Engineer_Wong How do we get other dental offices to be Covid safe across Canada? We’ve been putting off dental care for years. I wrote to the provincial regulatory body for dentists and they basically ignored me. 😭😭😭
