#Literaria December 2024 Education systems around the world have traditionally appreciated and even rewarded the willingness in learners to conform, obey and follow. Delhi Government schools are rapidly changing this age old narrative by placing learners in positions of power, encouraging them to challenge ideas, create their own understanding and share their unique interpretations. #Literaria has been a journey of hope, rooted in the power of precisely these individual voices. In unraveling as it did, Literaria December 2024 became a resounding success by every measure imaginable ! For starters, everyone from the visionary Principal, the committed librarian to all the teachers at ASoSE, Lajpat Nagar, turned out to be an extraordinarily exuberant team, leading with their sheer enthusiasm throughout this celebration of all things reading! Literaria has collaborated with fellow Fulbright Scholars on several occasions in the past. This edition witnessed FLTA fellow @JesudossAsher and his team bring the message of compassion , sentience and Five freedoms to our learners through interactive, super engaging activities. Caricature Artist @KaranCaricature taught us the intricacies of his art, but more importantly, in remembering our heroes, reminded us of the values that we are built upon. My own Fulbright story found a voice Under the Kahani Tree where together, we held a lived experiences talk. To promote oral storytelling, we also used photographs from around the world and discussed multiple perspectives that common visuals can evoke. The undebatable stars of the show, however, were our students, each one more eager and motivated than the next, leading fantastic sessions themselves, asking questions that matter and sharing their ideas and vision freely. Even this video today is an example of the brilliance our students bring to the table over and over again, a gift created voluntarily by the ingenious @IMPIYUSH11_ . We are proudly calling it the #collaboftheyear ! Learners such as these make us teachers want to work on ourselves to be worthy of them everyday. All in a day's work Words immortalise people, feelings, experiences. Through stories retold, we continue to keep alive the memories of those who touch our hearts and lives long after they are gone.
