Today I visited Tres Marias and met the inspiring women behind this migrant-led initiative. Since the escalation began, they have been preparing 150-300 hot meals each day for displaced migrant communities in Beirut & Mount Lebanon, a powerful example of solidarity.

I’m back in #Lebanon, where escalating hostilities are taking a heavy toll on people. IOM teams are on the ground responding to surging displacement, but needs are immense and resources are nearly exhausted. Urgent support is needed to sustain life-saving assistance.

Today, I visited the @JesuitRefugee shelter in #Beirut, open since day one of the hostilities and now hosting 180 displaced migrants. Their stories remind us that migrant communities are also affected by the crisis in #Lebanon and must not be overlooked in the response.

Civilians across the region are once again paying the price of relentless conflict. In 1 week, millions of lives were upended, tens of thousands displaced, and many more in distress. IOM is scaling up emergency response with partners. Ceasefire now. Civilians must be protected.

IOM teams are on the ground responding to the crisis in the Middle East. Our 38 strategically located hubs and warehouses including in the UAE, Greece, Afghanistan, Jordan, and Yemen are stocked with life-saving items, enabling us to reach people in urgent need within hours.

This year marks 75 years of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). #IOM75 is not only the story of an organization, but of the countless people it has supported – their resilience, unwavering courage, and enduring hope for a better life.

Deeply concerned by escalating tensions affecting Iran and the wider region. IOM joins UNSG calling for restraint and urgent de-escalation to prevent further humanitarian consequences. Civilians must be protected at all times. IHL must be respected.
