#StraitofHormuz "reopening": @FT reports that "[s]everal oil and shipping executives told FT the situation remained uncertain [...] Matt Smith, analyst at Kpler, said Trump admin’s declaration there was 'safe passage' for tankers [...] was clearly not the case at present."

As you can see from my last several reposts of official statements from #Iran, they have been issuing mutually contradictory assertions regarding the "reopening" of the #StraitofHormuz; the US is doing the same. Absolute chaos so far as I can tell.

Trump announces he is "permanently opening" the Strait of Hormuz.

With Iran's inevitable robust defense and steadfast resistance, with ceasefire accessible in Lebanon, and with previously Open Straits Hormuz opened again; Now giving Diplomacy a chance through intense Pakistan initiatives, paves the ground, more or less, for comprehensive, unified and united efforts to establish permanent peace and collective security, sustainable development, progress and prosperity for All in the region and beyond. Reliable Trust, Goodwill, avoiding redundancy in action and words, RESPECT, "Practical Will to Action" as well as particularly Synergy among the countries of the region can bridge the existing gaps to achieve the significant goals. The intelligentsia, politicians schooars and media can play a significant role in helping bridge the current chasm towards convergence.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: A naval blockade is considered a violation of the ceasefire. If the US naval blockade continues, the Islamic Republic of Iran will take necessary reciprocal measures.

Iranian lawmaker: Following the US regime's retreat and its acceptance of a ceasefire in Lebanon, Iran will allow certain commercial ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz after collecting tolls.

Iranian lawmaker Khezrian, referring the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, emphasized that hostile countries are not permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and that passage through the strait will only take place if tolls are paid.

Our daughter, Rachel Corrie, was killed in 2003 in Gaza, while trying to protect a Palestinian home facing illegal destruction by the Israeli military. She was 23 years old.
