NEW: FedEx driver who is accused of abducting and strangling a seven-year-old girl, puts his face in his hand as a photo is displayed of him driving her to her death. 7-year-old Athena Strand was seen standing behind Tanner Horner in his FedEx truck. Athena was allegedly snatched by Horner when he was delivering a Barbie doll to her home in Paradise, Texas. Horner initially claimed that he accidentally hit the girl with the truck before "panicking" and pulling her into the vehicle. He said he then strangled her in the vehicle and dumped the body 7 miles from the home. The photo, however, shows that Athena was alert in the truck and did not appear to have been struck by the truck. Wise County District Attorney James Stainton says the jury will see footage on the day of the killing, depicting the moment Athena was strangled to death. "Somebody covered up the camera because they don't want you to see. Guess what? Audio is still running, and you're going to hear it. You're going to hear what a 250-pound man can do to a 67-pound child," he said. "And when I say it's horrible, I mean it. I've been doing this for 25 years, and I promise you, buckle up." Horner qualifies for the death penalty.

@GadSaad To an extent yes, but airline pilots should be taught by qualified instructors not people who did some research on youtube. Same with brain surgeons. Merit over equity. And if you are a presenter of nationwide discourse, almost always using laymen is dangerous.

It is almost never a good idea to criticize the veracity of someone's position based on an appeal to credentials (or lack thereof). In Boolean algebra, a statement is true or false based on an axiomatic truth. The same should apply in our general discourse. A plumber might say X about a topic outside of their expertise, and this is true or false independently of whether he is a plumber or a professor. Judge people's ideas based on their merit. While it is obviously true that people's training might allow them to offer opinions rooted in area-specific domains, I prefer to remove one's credentials from the calculus. In many instances, the biggest promulgators of bullshit are professors as per the idea pathogens in The Parasitic Mind. Avoid this cognitive bias rooted in elitism.

I oppose the SAVE Act, a bill where if you have changed your name or do not have a passport you may be turned away from voting. This bill will make it harder for the 80% of married women who have changed their name, and the 60% of Michiganders who don't have a passport to vote.

@JDVance If an EpiPen was to be made in china it would cost $10 ,it costs around $60 to manufacture for a 2 pack in the usa , but are sold to insurers for $1000 , Pharmaceuticals can be made here no problem , it just mean big pharma its going to gouge less.
