@Iain_Fitz How much does it cost to move locos on these trucks? Always wondered when visiting locos are moved around heritage railways each year.

Loco 37042 is being relocated to the Weardale Railway, where the intention is to work towards a return to operation. I've been asked to go along with the loco. On behalf of the owner G.Harris & I we thank you for your patience on any news. IF.

Sun is shining & the duff bogie is out using a novel approach of EN8 pins with a lift & pack. No 1 cab in extremely poor condition but it's only metal. We'll sort it. Let's see what happens next @jw26040

Today marks the end of our provision of Thunderbird duties on the WCML. For the past 13 years, DRS has been on call to clear the line in the event of a Pendolino breakdown. Thank you to all of our, traincrew, engineers and everyone who made this service a success. F.A.B.

Remembering the late, great, Richard Burns today - a day on which he brilliantly won the World Rally Championship in 2001 and tragically passed away on the same day just four years later in 2005. He was just 34 years old. Burns made his WRC debut at the 1990 RAC Rally and would score his first win eight years later on the 1998 Safari Rally. He drove for Subaru, Mitsubishi and Peugeot - winning 10 rallies, scoring 34 podiums and 277 stage wins. To this day he remains Britain’s most recent WRC drivers’ champion. We miss you Burnsy! 💙

@stephen37292ML I've a feeling this is our 26. The reason I say that is I can make out what I think is it's (still fitted) radio pod for the far north line & '040 was one of the few that had a single light like this but also carried another on the lamp pod. 😊

37042-an update, an apology, a thank-you but no immediate news sadly. A few people have been asking privately about 37042 & we felt after the support/love for the loco we all enjoyed last year we should sort of say yes it's still very much in our thoughts -(contd in pics)

For Jeffray. You've waited over 30 years to see the brake van & '040 together. Well here it is. Tricky with 2 traction motors & railhead corrosion/brake van not moved for 2 years Isn't it just wonderful. 040 restoration continues & relocation imminent IF. @jw26040
