A friend of mine took a ₹45L home loan in 2018. Last month, he paid it off completely, 8 years ahead of schedule. Every spare rupee he could save went into prepayment instead of investments. He told us over dinner, and the reaction was not what he expected. Some of us genuinely argued that he had made a financial mistake, that the money would have compounded better in mutual funds, and that he'd essentially wasted the opportunity. Maybe we were right mathematically. But he sleeps better than ever now. Was this the wrong call? Would love to hear from people who've been on both sides of this decision.

Today, while celebrating a birthday party with my friends, my whole bank account got emptied! I thought the total expense would be around ₹20,000–25,000. But the hotel bill shocked me. Before we started eating, the restaurant manager asked how many people were there. I told him we were 16 people. He first said the food would cost around ₹30,000–35,000. But when the final bill arrived, it was ₹56,000! When I asked the manager about it, he said the dishes we ordered were very expensive. I even requested a discount, but he replied, “This is not a roadside dhaba where we give discounts.” In the end, I had no option but to pay the full amount. Honestly, can food for 16 people really cost this much?

आज तो दोस्तो के साथ बर्थडे पार्टी मनाने के चक्कर में पुरा अकाउंट ही खाली हो गया है ! में तो सोच रही थी की 20 से 25 हजार में हो जायेगा पुरा काम लेकिन इस होटल में तो मेरा सारा अकाउंट ही खाली कर दिया है ! और में खाने से पहले पैसे पहुंची तो बोल रहे थे की आप कितने लोग हैं में बोलि की हम 16 है ! पुरे तो मेनेजर बोला की करीब 30 से 35 हजार में हो जायेगा आपका खाना लेकिन जब बिल आया तब पता चला की ये तो 56 हजार रुपये हो गय है ! जब में मैनेजर से बात करी तो पता चला की जो हम खाए थे वह बहुत ही ज्यादा महगा खाना था ! में मैनेजर को बोलि sir कुछ डिस्काउंट मिल सकता है क्या मैनेजर बोला ये कोई गांव का ढाबा नहीं है जो आपको डिस्काउंट मिलेगा ! फिर क्या पुरा बिल देना ही पड़ा अब आप ही बताओ 16 लोगो का खाने का बिल इतना हो सकता है!

आज मैं पंजाब नेशनल बैंक में गया था. मैं ₹ 1 लाख का चेक लेकर बैंक काउण्टर पर पहुँचा, एक महिला कर्मचारी थी. उन्होंने कहा 30 हज़ार रुपये से ज़्यादा नहीं मिलेगा. दो दिन बाद यानी सोमवार को आना, मैंने बताया घर में शादी है, जरूरत है. यही बात मैंने मैनेजर को भी बताया, मैनेजर ने कैश देने से इनकार कर दिया. मैं फिर से अपनी बात रख ही रहा था इतने में बैंक में काम करने वाला एक प्राइवेट कर्मचारी मुझसे बेहद सख़्त लहजे में अभद्र तरीके से बात करने लगता है. मैंने सिर्फ़ लाइन में बोला - भाई साहब twitter पर मेरे 50 हज़ार फॉलोअर्स है, अब आप लोग तय कर ले की कैश अभी देंगे या बाद में बुला देंगे. क्योंकि कैश तो देना ही पड़ेगा, मैं भीख मांगने नहीं आया हूँ, मेरी बात सुनने ही बैंक मैनेजर को दिन में तारे दिखने लगे, उन्होंने मेरा चेक लिया, उसे बाद बैंक औपचारिकताओं को पूरा करके तुरंत ₹1 लाख रुपये दे दिया. मेरी तरह और 3-4 लोग बैंक में कैश की लाइन में थे. और सब को जानबूझ परेशान किया जा रहा था क्योंकि बैंक वाले भारी भरकम कैश बड़े व्यापारियों को दे देते है जिसके एवज में उन्हें कमीशन मिल जाता है. एक बात तो तय है कि अगर आप शिक्षित है तो आपका शोषण नहीं हो सकता. बाक़ी @pnbindia को ऐसे मामलों में बैंक कर्मचारियों पर कड़ी कार्यवाही करनी चाहिए.
