100 wins. Inseparable was built on the belief that good mental health policy saves lives. This spring, we surpassed 100 wins nationwide – wins that are already changing lives for the better. ◆ Kids in CO can access therapy, regardless of income ◆ FL mobile crisis teams = care, not cuffs ◆ IL ends delays from insurance red tape ◆ NJ kids get care before crisis ◆ UT expands timely access See more at inseparable.us/wins/ #MentalHealth #PolicyWins

Postcard from Juneau 📮 Alaska has the highest suicide rate in the nation. Behind that stat are kids, parents, neighbors, and whole communities carrying grief that good policy could help prevent. That's why last week, Inseparable partnered with AFSP Alaska and advocates to rally for HB 138 & SB 196, bills that would create sustainable funding for Alaska's 988 crisis line.

Yesterday, SCOTUS struck down Colorado's conversion therapy ban, a setback for mental health in the US. Conversion therapy has been linked to greater symptoms of depression, PTSD, and suicidality. To fight for youth mental health and stop conversion therapy, follow @TrevorProject.

We recently talked to focus group participants about AI and heard near-universal support for guardrails that protect young people. Elected leaders need to step up, but when they do, they need to get it right: preserving the potential of AI while protecting people from harm. Read Sema's article here: insact.us/howtheyoung

Blanket bans and screen time limits assume AI affects all kids the same way. Her research tells a different story. For 1 in 10 young people, AI is actually a mobility engine, helping them build skills, explore careers, and feel hopeful about the future. Black youth and those facing economic hardship are especially likely to use it this way. But for others, it fills a gap left by missing human support, and that's where the real risk lives.

Maryland just protected the entire $100 million in youth mental health funding in the state budget. 🫂💚 Like many states across the country, Maryland is facing a serious mental health crisis. With one in nine teens seriously considering suicide each year, it is more evident than ever that care is needed. Thanks to all of the advocates who raised their voices, the legislature protected the full $100 million for necessary investments to improve the health of every young Marylander. Next step, SB284/HB392–the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act–goes to the governor for his signature.

When you're experiencing homelessness, mental health care can feel impossible to reach. Utah just changed that. Gov. Cox signed HB 339 – street medicine providers can now bring care directly to people who need it. Thank you to Rep. Clancy (@Clancy4Utah) and Sen. Grover for leading the way.

988 is only as strong as the crisis system behind it. States that invest in that system are seeing real results — lower costs, better outcomes, fewer people falling through the cracks. Alaska has a chance to be one of them. SB 196 is how it gets there. Last week Angela Kimball testified in support of Sen. Kawasaki's bill to sustainably fund 988 and made the case for why investing in crisis care is the smart choice. Thank you to Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case for his testimony too. 🙏
