@1eyeinrumney @CollegeOptomUK The same is true in Devon. Patients prefer to have a choice of providers and as we have seen from other sole provider contracts, such as DVLA visual fields and DRS, access can be restricted with patients having to travel further and satisfaction worse.

@1eyeinrumney @OptometryToday @The_AOP @FODO1 @CollegeOptomUK We have seen similar centralisation of optometric services in Devon with the DRS services being removed from convenient community practices in favour of ‘local’ hubs in awkward places with poor bus services. Needless to say, many unhappy patients.

👁️ The theme of #WorldOptometryDay2023 - "expanding optometry's role" - couldn’t be more relevant. Optometrists working in Opticians across our local communities are underutilised. My Bill would fix that by ensuring better commissioning to join up primary and secondary care.

@VorneDie @natzeh @nhkopticians @Hoya_UK The vision ought to be good but sometimes it can take a little while to adapt to a new prescription. If you still have concerns about the vision after a week or so of adaptation then speak to your optometrist.

@The_AOP Whilst an uplift in GOS voucher values would be welcomed it would be far better to properly fund GOS sight testing so that spectacle wearers don’t have to subsidise sight testing for the entire nation.
