FARAGE SECURITY REALITY CHECK What reasons could Farage have for rejecting security except of course - his movements would be mapped - Parliament visits logged - visitors and associates logged - his 4 or 5hr lunches logged - foreign trips logged and not only logged but detailed as to where he has visited, who he has visited, who financed the trip - visits to Clacton logged (nil return)

@TheRealJamieKay They are the ones who get away with malfeasance in public office, for £10 billion being wasted on useless PPE. Nothing to see here, Gov(e).

@michaelgove All evidence has been "disappeared" a long time ago. Somebody should bear the consequences of £10 billion of taxpayers money going missing - on top of the test and trace fiasco; but the Establishment closes ranks, doesn't it, Michael? You ought to hang your head in shame.

@michaelgove Well: you would say that. All I hope is that this is investigated by the police and evidence is found, enough for the guilty to go to trial. In law, you are innocent until proven guilty, in politics no such latitude exists. This whole thing stinks to high heaven.

Actually it wasn’t. Dame Heather Hallet found *no* evidence of cronyism or corruption on the part of ministers or officials. Mistakes *were* made. Honest mistakes. I take full responsibility for that. But the allegations of corruption are unfounded nonsense

"The VIP lane was a textbook case of corruption and cronyism." The daughter of Christina Fulop, who died from COVID, speaks out after it was revealed that nearly £10bn of taxpayers' money spent on PPE was wasted. trib.al/sEEMTLs 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233

Britain just paid a record £11.7 billion in debt interest in May alone. Hard-working Brits funded every penny of it. You paid for it through your taxes. You paid for it through the slow destruction of your savings and wages. While you were doing that, they still found money for foreign aid and the unproductive. And the whole time they were silently robbing you. They print more pounds out of thin air every year. They weaken the money you actually earned. This is not one theft. This is two. They take your money openly through tax. Then they take what’s left quietly by debasing the pound. This is how they grind down the people who still work and produce. You can still opt out if you know how...

UEFA is planning to run a candidate against Gianni Infantino in November's FIFA Presidential election. They need to. It is time for FIFA's corruption to end.

Just a thought: do all Reform members have to have failed basic English grammar to be eligible to join the Party, or is it limited to their supporters? Answers on a postcard .....

@ItsJamesHall We have the doom-loop of a high-price, low productivity economy. We let high net worth individuals and corporations get away with turbo-charged tax avoidance. Why? Have our politicians been bought? It's not just in this country, either.

If you earn over £72k, you're in the top 10% of UK full-time earners. Yet for many it still doesn't feel like enough. So…is it an income problem, a spending problem, or a tax problem?

@andrew_lilico I think it would be better to incentivise private investment into the real economy. Despite the best efforts of governments of all stripes our private investment is 27th in the OECD charts. Why is that? We used to make things, you know. Curtail share buy-backs, for instance?

The single most effective, most straightforward & most plausibly "Labour" thing Andy Burnham could do to boost GDP growth would be to cut a deal with the unions to enhance public sector productivity.

The UK's 10 year bond yield has punched through 5% this morning. Seems like a good week to appoint a PM who thinks the bond markets don't matter, and make Ed Miliband Chancellor. What could pssibly go wrong.
