Today, I had the deep honour of joining our veterans and their families, along with MLA Justin Wright, at the Robertson Memorial Legion in Medicine Hat to pay tribute on Remembrance Day. As we gathered, we shared stories, remembered sacrifices, and honoured the remarkable legacy of those who served our country with courage and commitment.
Alberta’s veterans have defended our freedoms, and today, we stand united in gratitude and remembrance. Let us keep their memory alive and ensure future generations understand the price of our peace and the strength of our communities. Thank you to all who served and continue to serve. Lest we forget.
This morning, The Duchess of Edinburgh attended the National Memorial Arboretum’s annual #ArmisticeDay service at the Armed Forces Memorial.
Unveiled by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2007, the memorial is designed so that at precisely 11:00 on 11 November, a shaft of light falls on the wreath in its centre.
This evening The King, The Prince and Princess of Wales, and other members of the Royal Family, attended the Festival of Remembrance at the @RoyalAlbertHall. Organised by @PoppyLegion, the Festival is an annual commemorative concert which honours all those who have lost their lives in conflict.
@TheWales_ William we need to talk about the throne being restored to me legally as IAM a direct desendant of King James l l from Scotland.Your father illegaly crowned himself king of England stealing my right to the throne.
Preserving children’s rights is about being fair while supporting their health, safety and wellbeing. That’s why our government is tabling 3 important pieces of legislation, the first one being the Health Statutes Amendment Act which if passed would:
👉Prohibit physicians from performing all sex reassignment surgeries on minors
👉Prohibited prescribing of hormone therapies including puberty blockers with exception to minors aged 16 & 17 who have approval of parents, physicians and psychologists
👉Allow minors with already prescribed hormone therapies to continue.

As our visits to Australia and Samoa come to a close, my wife and I would like to thank both nations for the warmest of welcomes and for the countless fond memories we will carry in our hearts for many years to come.
Even when we are far apart in distance, the many close connections that unite us across the globe and through our Commonwealth family have been renewed, and will remain as profound as they are enduring.

Now that my posts are being seen again thanks to Rachel Maddow doing the segment about another attempt by the orange hobgoblin to silence me, here's the trailer for the first episode of my new comedy series WokeUpLate on Roku
Thrilled to celebrate the scholarship recipients at Bow Valley College today! 🎓 These students are not just excelling—they’re shaping Alberta’s future.
With demand rising across industries, graduates from schools like Bow Valley are filling key roles to keep Alberta’s economy strong. Through our Alberta 2030 strategy, we’re opening doors for the next generation of innovators and builders.
Thank you to the donors who make this possible—you’re investing in Alberta’s future!
Today, we gathered some of the brightest minds from across the country to address a critical issue facing our nation—Canada’s productivity emergency.
This summit is about more than economics. It’s about finding solutions to ensure higher-paying jobs, stronger investments, and lower prices for all Canadians. As Nobel laureate Paul Krugman put it, “Productivity isn’t everything, but in the long run, it’s almost everything.”
We discussed how Alberta has led the way—from innovations in agriculture with AI and drones to cutting-edge developments in carbon capture and storage (CCUS). These efforts are just the beginning. But the reality is, Canada has fallen behind globally, and investment has stalled. It’s time to change course.
By streamlining regulations, reducing red tape, and encouraging investment, we can unlock incredible opportunities. Alberta is already leading, but we need every province and Ottawa working together to build a stronger, more prosperous future.
This summit is the start of that change. Together, we can drive growth, empower businesses, and secure a better quality of life for all Canadians. Let’s get to work.
Once again, Ottawa is attempting to set policies that are shortsighted and reckless.
This fall, the federal government plans to table the regulations for their oil and gas production cap.
The Trudeau government says they’re working to cut emissions, but we all know that what they’re really doing is cutting production of oil and gas.
This, by extension, will cut jobs across the country, decrease tax revenue used to fund important public services, and it will increase the cost of everything - from housing to groceries.
And that should concern every Canadian.

@ABDanielleSmith Danielle this is bigger than just Alberta having an emissions cap as the glaciers in the Amazon mountains of Chile are melting at an alarming rate causing the mangroves to suffer as they won't capture carbon at the same rate as the energy coming from the oilsands! The unknown God.
Today, Alberta will respond to the federal government’s proposed emissions cap. Alberta is standing firm against this cap, which threatens to cut energy production, eliminate jobs, and reduce billions from our economy. twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
As the sun sets this Friday, October 11, Jewish communities in Alberta and around the world gather for Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. This solemn day is a time to look within, seek forgiveness, and make amends with others and with God. It is a day marked by heartfelt prayer, fasting, and contemplation, as Jewish people seek to elevate their spirits and purify their souls.
This sacred day also serves as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of the Jewish people, who come together to renew their faith and to seek God’s mercy and blessing. By embracing humility and honesty, Yom Kippur is a profound opportunity for individuals and communities to emerge stronger and more united.
To all who are observing Yom Kippur, may your prayers be heard and your fast be meaningful.

I have issued this statement, along with Minister of Municipal Affairs Ric McIver on the federal government’s appointment of a working group to support Jasper’s recovery:
Our government has been steadfast in our support for Jasper’s recovery. The Jasper Re-Entry Cabinet Committee has been meeting on a weekly basis since August 22, 2024. Prior to that, the Emergency Management Cabinet Committee was meeting daily to respond to emerging issues related to the wildfire situation across the province, including the wildfire that devastated the Municipality of Jasper and Jasper National Park.
The mandate of Alberta’s Jasper Re-Entry Cabinet Committee is to provide oversight and support in the transition from emergency response to long-term recovery. The committee provides direction to provincial representatives on the Jasper Recovery Task Force, which is working closely with the Municipality of Jasper and Parks Canada to determine the best solutions to promote recovery in the area.
While the wildfire in Jasper originated within Jasper National Park, Alberta’s Jasper Re-Entry Cabinet Committee provided $7.5 million in emergency evacuation payments to support more than 6,500 evacuees from the town of Jasper, followed by a provincial Disaster Recovery Program with a budget of up to $149 million to support Jasper’s recovery. However, under the federal Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA) program, only a portion of Alberta’s costs are eligible for reimbursement.
Now that the federal government has also established a working group for Jasper’s recovery, we are calling on the federal government to waive the DFAA cost-share formula, given that this fire originated from the national park, which is under federal jurisdiction. We encourage quick decisions to ensure plans that fit Jasper’s unique circumstances are in place before the snow flies.
Alberta's government has a plan for interim housing to support Jasper residents while they rebuild their homes and community. To support this plan we have asked the federal government to partner with Alberta in sharing the costs of this project that would provide much needed interim housing in Jasper through the DFAA. With winter fast approaching, we hope that they will support this important work to provide interim housing in Jasper.
We’re glad to see that the federal government has now appointed a task force of ministers at the federal level. It is our hope that the task force will respond to these requests and work with us to continue supporting Jasper residents.
