I'm part of that swathe you talk about, but I strongly disagree that just by someone continually saying otherwise I somehow might change. Don't think so.

The vitriol and abuse directed at @mclaren_linzi by unionist/loyalist men for simply daring to be a woman with an opinion would be shocking were it not so predictable. I don't know Linzi, but I know many other women who experienced the same bully-boy tactics. Stay strong.

I absolutely hate to see any flags on lampposts, and whilst identity is not up at the top of my list, the more folk tell me I'm not a unionist, the more confident I become. It's a clear sign that they are concerned about the strength in unionism.

Wrong. I have, more than once, rebuffed the “myth of inevitability.” Check my timeline. The lack of understanding is only in those who believe it. Also, I provided reasons why I think the article came about, and imagine that will be validated more with time - it already is. It’s clout-chasing and I’m not bullying anyone by saying it. And the victim card is so boring, especially when it is so obviously unwarranted.
