Trump made this U-Turn because he was not happy that people didn’t accept his framing of the ceasefire. He wanted to the world the view it as his victory, but no one bought it. They didn’t expect Iran to make a statement clarifying it was a US defeat (and not the other way around), neither did they expect that that Iran’s response was going to go receive a global awareness. Now Trump is trying to save face. But that ego will be his end.
