This morning I went to vote NO at the HOPE WAY polling site in Alexandria.
While checking in, I mentioned I may need to grab my driver’s license from my car. An election worker (Robin is her name) told me, “You don’t need your ID, we can verify you, you’ll be fine.”
I responded, no I need my ID.
After finding it, I checked in and said clearly that everyone should show ID.
That’s when the worker began arguing, saying “not everyone has ID, some can’t afford it, there are many reasons why.”
That’s not just inappropriate, it’s electioneering from a poll worker. Totally unacceptable.

The only way Dems are going to have a hope at responding to a post-Section II world is if they crack D+90 minority-dominated districts to create currently-illegal statewide sweep maps in blue states. As we’ve seen over the past year, this is not something the CBC will like.

i think 2028 will be a lot like 2008 - the Republican lame duck is so unbelievably unpopular that it whoever the Dem nominee is will win in a landslide with a massive mandate for change. Obama completely squandered that (never had any real inclination to change much)

It’s early but it seems to me a very likely scenario for 2028 is it could be an “any democrat will win” scenario, especially if gas is $6/gal and the ass falls out of the economy, and Dems *should* be focusing on who can *govern* to win in 2032 but will fight the last war instead

I have seen Rs sharing this poll from a Dem pollster as being good for their side, and I think that's reasonable. One counterpoint, though, is that the recalled vote (51-47 Trump) matches 2024, and I think it's also reasonable to think the 2026 electorate will be bluer
