You know who’s a perfect metaphor for the GOP? Scott Jennings. A pundit who mocks Trump with us during commercial breaks — but fawns over Trump when the camera is rolling. Brave enough to speak out… in the green room.

@ambrosecarol2 @TheIllegit The ironic part of the original tweet is that if you figure out the guy’s name (which isn’t hard) and google it, all that comes back is article after article that makes the innocent project look correct in this case. There wasn’t any new evidence found.

@IdWalkThat @TheIllegit While they could do that, since he was already executed the point would be moot and a waste of judicial resources. Believe it or not but there are cases with merit that deserve to be heard

@ambrosecarol2 @TheIllegit First time noticing the government isn’t a purely efficient system? This case wasn’t re-litigated. There were no witnesses to put on stand. IP presented their findings, Dallas DA agreed, a tiny ceremonial hearing occurred with Walker’s son & the victim’s son and that’s it.

“NIL killed Cinderella” is really just nostalgia for a system where players couldn’t get paid and had no mobility. Of course mid-major stars stayed put back then… they had no choice. Now they do… and suddenly March Madness is “ruined”? It’s far more nuanced than that.

@borsamr1 @GfedGoCrazy @avidsportsrdr Change this one sequence that went UF 91.4% to Iowa 90.2% in 4 seconds and the mean of the 3 years only changes by 2.33 or 4.2% but you have a completely flipped trend line with it now going down...having the tail have that much emphasis saying it'll go to the moon is bad science

@borsamr1 @GfedGoCrazy @avidsportsrdr But to then use a sample size of 3 to extrapolate that future years are gonna trend higher and higher is nonsensical. So in 2040 we're only gonna get double digit seeds in the sweet 16. That makes no sense you're putting too much weight on the last bullet

@Chuck_Hendrix @GfedGoCrazy @avidsportsrdr You have a data set of 35 with no correlation at all. It’s up then down year to year. And then there’s a significant system change and we have a 3 year data set where it’s highly correlated way below average with 0 outliers. I’m not saying it definitive but I still expect a 56

@GfedGoCrazy @avidsportsrdr That’s not how trend lines work. You can’t project off of 3 samples and project “well it shoot to the moon”. You’d have lines going every which way. Next year I’d expect the average of the three, 56. Not the moon shot of 67.

@Richard15322800 @TheIllegit @haplar Oh that and the TEN witnesses that put him at the hospital for the birth of his son. You're cherry-picking what you're taking umbrage with and leaving out the part that proves his innocence. That's the whole ballgame.

@IdWalkThat @TheIllegit @haplar Someone with any amount of critical thinking skills and an honest bone in their body would want to read what the Prosection cloaked AT THE TIME OF THE TRIAL before forming a conclusion.

@Richard15322800 @TheIllegit @haplar Here's the guy that interrogated him. If you were to use those mighty strong critical thinking skills of yours do you think he may have had any biases? Dallas District Attorney Henry Wade prosecuted Walker. This is the 35th person convicted by DA Wade to be exonerated.

@TheIllegit @haplar What case for the prosecution?? The Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office said there were multiple issues throughout the case. The fuckin DA asked for him to be declared innocent.

@IdWalkThat @haplar You googled it and found the nbc article written by the stenographer for the Innocence Project, which recounts the case of the defense and none of the case of the prosecution. Which is how they operate, which is exactly the point.

@TheIllegit The entire innocence project case was based on that confession being made under false pretenses and intimidation. It's the same as torture, people say what you want to hear. Not to mention there are double digit witnesses that put him at the hospital for the birth of his own son.

@IdWalkThat No, it's completely irrelevant. Testimony given under oath is evidence. Statements made later are not and signify nothing relevant. In this case there wasn't even that, he confessed to the crime, and 70 years later they just declared him innocent because muh racism.

@haplar @TheIllegit Jesus fucking christ of all cases this is not the one to be claiming "the Innocence Project doesn't want anyone to google this." Because I googled it and let me tell you it doesn't make the prosecution look right. 10 witnesses put him at a hospital for a birth of his own kid.

@TheIllegit Tommy Lee Walker. Not hard to find. nbcnews.com/nbcblk3/black-… (and while I understand the basic jist of what you're trying to say, Dallas County did exonerate this man based on the lack of evidence presented at the time and I'm not very interested in nitpicking the semantics)

@TheIllegit That makes the person an unreliable witness. If that’s the only form of evidence they used to prosecute then ya it’s a problem that can’t just sweep under the rug. No clue if that’s the case here but this is not NBD. It may not prove innocence but it no longer proves guilt

70 years ago, criminal convictions weren't DNA based, so there's not any way to determine 'innocence' after the fact, it's usually just some witness who said under oath one thing, and then later said something else (which is meaningless & proves nothing).
