Ethanol is a simple molecule. C₂H₅OH. But it may be writing a much bigger story than its formula suggests. The story so far: Flawed Policy → Higher Ethanol Blends ↑ (untuned legacy engines) → Carcinogens ↑ (formaldehyde, acetaldehyde) → Surface Ozone ↑ — 15 of 25 Indian cities now above the Legal Limit → Erratic Monsoons → Doctors already warning of a lung cancer epidemic. We spent months tracing the policy decisions behind it, and what it's already producing — connecting what's sitting in the public domain that not many have put together: 1️⃣ Untuned Legacy Engines running E20 measurably increase formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in the exhaust — both carcinogens, both ozone precursors. 2️⃣ India's Surface Ozone has worsened every year for 5 straight years — an established fact, per CSE's own six-year dataset. The same 5 years, ethanol content in the fuel rose from 8% to 20%. 3️⃣ A 2025 IISc study just modelled a "safe" aerosol boundary for South Asian monsoon rainfall. We may have less room left than anyone's said out loud. 4️⃣ Formaldehyde and Acetaldehyde — tracked by zero Indian monitoring agencies. Not CPCB. Not SAFAR. Zero. 5️⃣ The fleet most exposed — 75-80 million pre-2020 two-wheelers — has never been directly tested for carbonyl emissions under ethanol blending. As of this year, they have no fuel left except E20. Our Position: Until that legacy fleet phases out, E20 as the only option at every pump is a flawed policy. Not a case against Ethanol. Shri Vidyaprasanna Teertha Swamiji is the current living pontiff of the Kukke Subrahmanya Matha, authored the Sumadhwa Vijaya Sara Sangraha. He translated and beautifully condensed the entire Sanskrit Sumadhwa Vijaya epic into a simplified Kannada lyrical framework known as the Sumadhwa Vijaya Sara Sangraha. This makes it accessible for common people to read, chant, and sing. Now, both Sumadhwa Vijaya and Mani Manjari were written by Sri Narayana Panditacharya. Both Sumadhwa Vijaya and its sister text Mani Manjari, expounds Shankaracharya's propagation of Advaita and it is strongly criticised. It details a cosmic conspiracy where the demons Kali and Dvapara instruct the demon Maniman (who was killed by Bhima in the Dvapara Yuga) to take birth as a human. This human is Adi Shankara. His explicit divine mission from the demons is to corrupt the minds of the masses and destroy the authority of the Vedas and Puranas. Chapter 6 is dedicated entirely to character assassinating Adi Shankara and framing his Advaita as a deliberate, demonic deception designed to trick Hindus into practising Buddhism. The question is actually this - Do all the present day acharyas of Madhva sampradaya unequivocally endorse all this? What about the current scholars and gurus of the Madhva tradition? Do they endorse this? Constructive criticism of other doctrines is scholarly accepted and that too posses the principles reckoned by tarka shastra. Endorsement of personal criticism of the proponents of those doctrines is unacceptable. Ideal solution is not passive. It requires an aggressively analytical, highly structured approach to truth. When facing an environment saturated with institutionalised deception, the Shastric solution relies on Pramana. That is what exactly what Dr R Mani Dravida Shastrigal through @sringerimath has refuted. When deception is widespread, general summaries and secondary interpretations become dangerous attack vectors. The ideal solution is returning to the root texts. Just as diagnosing the precise presiding force of a situation requires consulting exact chapters and stanzas rather than relying on broad, generalised classifications, countering systemic philosophical or operational fraud requires rigorous, primary-source verification. General assumptions must be discarded in favour of precise rules.
