@Idris_Elbow_ There are a few good use cases, but they're useful for their efficiency, meaning no passive income opportunities. We could use them for trusted data sources for government, or for asset management in video games, or for resource allocation within an organization, but we don't.

The reason blockchain will never truly takeoff is because a trusted third party is just as secure and reliable because they are both just abstractions for value actually being backed by violent force. Making an illusion 100x more secure and transparent but 100x slower isn’t worth

And then there is the argument of like “people use it where they live under corrupt governments and warlords” like guys the warlord will just come and take their stuff post conversion, or incarcerate or torture you until you give up your key
