Today marks the end of my term as Israel’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. When I arrived in this beautiful country four years ago, I was truly excited to start my new mission. These years, however, have not been easy, and the challenges remain significant. Incitement and false accusations circulating through the media, academia, and public sphere, are undermining Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas and the other Iranian-backed terrorist proxies seeking its destruction. This has also fueled a dangerous and unprecedented rise in antisemitism, which we are all obliged to address. Despite these difficulties, I leave encouraged by the many dedicated friends and partners I have come to know; individuals and institutions committed to deepening the important ties and cooperation between our countries in all fields. I am grateful to all of you for your valuable support. It was a true honor representing Israel in Bern and Vaduz. My warm wishes to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and best of luck to my successor, Ambassador Tibor Schlosser. May we all be blessed with peace. Auf Wiedersehen! Au revoir! Arrivederci! להתראות!

Difficult Viewing: Hamas - the terror state controlling Gaza - is brutalizing Palestinians as it seeks to reestablish control. Responsible journalism should shine a light on this. We call on all media outlets to give appropriate coverage to this threat to regional security. The ceasefire must be implemented. Hamas must go. Gaza must be demilitarized.

À day to be remembered - rejoicing with the relatives of the hostages who survived and returned, and grieving with the bereaved families of those who perished and of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to make this happen; A day to feel proud in the resilience and solidarity demonstrated by Israeli society, and thankful for our ironclad friendship and partnership with the United State of America; exactly two years after the terrible Hamas massacre, we can celebrate the Simchat Torah holiday again

🕯️ At this very moment, two years ago, Israel faced the darkest day in its history. On October 7th, Palestinian Hamas jihadists invaded our land — murdering, burning, and kidnapping innocent men, women, and children. Two years later, we remember October 7th — we remember the victims, we pray for the return of the hostages still held in Gaza, and we stand united against terror. Hamas must be dismantled to end this war. We remain committed to our values, now more than ever. Light will rise over darkness.

I welcome the major steps announced by the Israeli leadership and military to strengthen and upgrade the humanitarian response in Gaza — particularly the decision to implement humanitarian pauses to protect civilian lives and allow the safe delivery of aid. In coordination with international partners, Israel is doing its utmost to improve the flow of vital supplies through designated corridors, airdrops, and expanded humanitarian zones. I call on UN agencies and international organizations working with @COGATonline to do their part and ensure that aid reaches those in need without delay — as Israel has demanded for some time. It is unacceptable that aid delivered to Gaza remains undistributed or is hijacked by Hamas, even as they falsely accuse Israel of blocking it. The world must stand firm against terror — and work relentlessly to bring all our hostages home immediately.

Contrary to popular narratives, there is NO LIMIT on the number of humanitarian aid trucks that can enter Gaza. The real bottleneck lies with the UN and international organizations, whose collection of aid from the crossings dropped sharply over the past month. Only after significant pressure, did the UN and international organizations resume collection: within just two days, over 270 trucks were collected from the Gazan side of Kerem Shalom and Zikim crossings by the UN and international organizations. When there is @UN will, there is a way.

Today, the IDF invited dozens of international journalists to the Kerem Shalom crossing inside Gaza, to see for themselves. Hundreds of aid trucks have entered Gaza with Israel’s approval, but the supplies are standing idle, undelivered. The reason? The UN refuses to distribute the aid. Hamas and the UN prevent the aid to reach the civilians in Gaza. The world deserves to know the truth.

Today I visited the Gaza Strip. I spoke to commanders and soldiers of the IDF on the frontline fighting to bring our hostages home, and to remove Hamas’ vast terror network and tunnels aimed at killing our citizens. I received a full and detailed update on the extensive efforts to ensure humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza – despite the danger, despite the pain of knowing our hostages are still held in brutal captivity. I asked many questions and verified facts. What is absolutely clear is that the true obstacle to humanitarian relief is Hamas. Huge quantities of aid are flowing in – in conjunction with UN and EU efforts agreed by Israel. Hamas loots the aid and prevents its proper distribution. All this whilst the GHF distribution is also being procured. Let’s be clear: It is the terrorists of Hamas – hijacking aid, and refusing to agree to a hostage release and ceasefire – who are kidnapping the civilian Gaza population and subjecting them to their tragic suffering. Israel is adamantly committed to the rules of international humanitarian law. Even in the midst of war, we are doing everything possible to help civilians in need - in keeping with international law, and our Israeli and Jewish values. I urge leaders from around the world to look at the facts, to see the reality. The international community must stop playing along with Hamas propaganda, lies, and modern-day blood libels, state firmly the demand for the immediate release of our hostages, and hold Hamas accountable for its crimes against both Israelis and Palestinians.

Instead of challenging the terror organization, they embrace it as their own. In this critical time of negotiations, they are echoing Hamas’s propaganda and harming the chances for a ceasefire. We urge all organizations to cease using Hamas’s talking points. Close to 4,500 trucks have entered Gaza, including flour for bakeries and 2,500 tons of baby food and high-calorie special food for children. There are more than 700 aid trucks inside Gaza waiting to be picked up by the UN. This bottleneck is the main obstacle to maintaining a consistent flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. For some, the obsession with attacking Israel is more important than helping the people of Gaza.

What you need to know about humanitarian aid for #Gaza: ➡️Since May 19, and in accordance with the directive of the political echelon, aid enters Gaza through two primary channels: 1. Distribution sites operated by @GHFUpdates, where weekly food packages are provided to families; 2. The entry of complementary aid coordinated with the UN, international organizations and countries, which includes raw materials for local bakeries and communal kitchens. ➡️Recently, close to 4,500 trucks entered Gaza, including flour for bakeries and 2,500 tons of baby food and high calorie special food for children. ➡️Over the past month, there has been a significant decline in the collection of humanitarian aid from the crossings by international aid organizations. As of now, the contents of approximately 950 humanitarian aid trucks are awaiting collection on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom and Zikim crossings. These trucks are just waiting there. ➡️The collection bottleneck remains the main obstacle to maintaining a consistent flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, despite Israel’s proactive efforts to expand the volume of aid trucks entering the area.
