The IFRC Capacity Building Fund (IFRC-CBF) is helping National Societies transform and strengthen how they serve communities in need. By investing in financial sustainability, IFRC-CBF is supporting National Societies to build the capacities, structures, and revenue models they need to operate with confidence and resilience. We need to care for the carers. The @IFRC network represents more than 17 million staff and volunteers who face a triple burden, exposed to traumatic events, being affected themselves and working long hours at the frontline. This #WorldMentalHealthAwarenessWeek, and every day, let's not forget to also care for their mental health.

On the road to Mokolo, Cameroon 📍💳 Today, @CroixRougeCam and @IFRC are taking one of the first key steps in cash assistance: voucher distribution. Using the Red Rose platform, vouchers help securely identify recipients, reduce errors, and ensure assistance reaches the right people with transparency and traceability. A safer, faster, and more accountable way to deliver humanitarian support. 🤝

These women are only a few examples from the thousands of Red Cross and Red Crescent nurses showing up every day in conflict zones, at borders and in communities that rarely make the news. To every nurse volunteering and working across our 191 National Societies, we salute you today.

In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sinlaku, communities on Fono Island are taking the first steps toward recovery. With support from the @microredcross, the @ifrc, and local volunteers, families are receiving shelter materials, hygiene kits, and essential supplies to help them rebuild their homes and lives safely and with dignity.

As #WorldMentalHealthWeek starts, let’s remember the importance of mental health. Millions of people around the world face mental health challenges. Yet stigma still keeps many from seeking the support they need. Let’s change that. Breaking the silence starts with us. Reaching out, staying connected, and supporting one another can make a real difference.

Honored to deliver IFRC’s plenary statement at #IMRF2026: commitments must translate into action. We support 18M migrants each year, yet too many still face danger. Over 82,000 have died or gone missing since 2014. We must do more to save lives & protect people on the move.

This week we marked the 107th anniversary of the founding of the @IFRC and World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. At the UN press briefing, IFRC Spokesperson, Tommaso Della Longa @TDellaLonga, presented new IFRC data on the concerning trend of humanitarian personnel killed and mounting risks. Humanitarian work should never be a death sentence, yet for many, it increasingly is. Hear more as he highlights the alarming trend of attacks on humanitarian personnel, especially local staff, and how they should be protected and respected.
