Hang with me: the federal government created a tax-credit scholarship program that states can choose to participate in. If a state opts in, taxpayers can donate money to approved scholarship-granting organizations, receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit ($1700), and then that money goes to STUDENTS - in private and public schools.
If Minnesota doesn't, that support is going to Colorado or Virginia. It's the easiest vote in the world, and Democrats (Walz included) said no. Uniformly. And I don't even think they know why.

Deception and Obstruction. In January after Gov. Walz announced that he was not seeking re-election he said he was "going to ride [republican] legislators like they've never been ridden before." Now, two months later, his administration has redacted a taxpayer funded report on the deficiencies in the 14 high risk medicaid funded programs preventing the legislature from addressing the challenges. Right now, we are just over 2 weeks from the first committee deadlines and the Governor has yet to present and introduce his fraud prevention package to the legislature. There is no language to review. There is no ability to review and scrutinize the bill. This is obstruction of a co-equal branch of government. This is wrong.

Rep. Luger-Nikolai (D-Saint Paul): "At some point I may offer an amendment to quintuple the rates of these registration fees so that we may fund other projects in the state that everyone deems worthy."
