@retneysholocron I think Anakin does fulfill the prophecy of "balancing the force" because he overthrows the Jedi control of the galaxy and restarts a battle for control. The prophecy came true. It just didn't unfold in the way people assumed it would.

Chosen One prophecy is stupid. Anakin’s final act should ONLY be about him finally acting selflessly and saving his son, not also about him balancing the Force and fulfilling an ancient prophecy. Star Wars is better when you ignore the prophecy.

Hard disagree. The Last Jedi is a masterpiece. The Force Awakens is pretty great. The Rise of Skywalker is the result of an overreaction to the insane backlash of a very vocal group of fans following the release of The Last Jedi.
