@ImUrWeakness_ @southside_mafs It was the majority of opinion at the time. Had you lived in that time with your set of opinions about morality you would have said it was good for society that Christians were exterminated. That's the point.

@HeroAbility @southside_mafs If I think Christians should be hunted and murdered? no I actually don't think anyone should be. What relevance does this have.

@ImUrWeakness_ @southside_mafs Most of the Bible is historical accounting of underdogs showing might doesn't make right. With God on your side the opposition won't matter. The early centuries of Christianity are Christians being hunted like animals and exterminated by a large majority. Was that right or wrong?

@HeroAbility @southside_mafs You can think it's disgusting and stupid but that is literally the way our world is ran. We do not operate on objective moral standards ordained by a god, even if you grant a gods existence, we as a species do not operate under their objective morals.

@ImUrWeakness_ @southside_mafs So first i was wrong and now I'm just kinda right? lol ... might makes right is a stupid epistemology and a disgusting way to run a world. But it is the only position that is coherent for the atheist. kudos for the intellectual honesty.

@HeroAbility @southside_mafs What is right is imposed on people by force, you can think its right to be able to drive 100mph past a school, but youre forced into not doing so else facing punishment, decided collectively as a society based on what you're belittling as 'feely feels'.

@ImUrWeakness_ @southside_mafs "So what" is that you're critiquing a view because you don't share the same morality. That would be hypocritical if both systems come from the same source (feely feels). So what's right is just what can be imposed on other people by force.

@HeroAbility @southside_mafs You can say its feely feels but what does this achieve. It's not a dead end nor does it serve any point. If Christianity turns out to be false you are just living by the feely feels of the gospel writers. it IS subjective but, so what?

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@HeroAbility @southside_mafs Atheism does not need to make a universal claim, you are imposing theistic groundwork upon a system which does not adhere to it. Child molestation is wrong because we as a society decided it so. This is why we punish those who act upon their lack of this belief with prison.

@ImUrWeakness_ @southside_mafs No, what im saying is that moral relativism that depends on personal feely feels to determine right and wrong cant make a universal case for why child molesting is wrong. "I dont think its right" is not a universal case (and in fact is just borrowing my culture).

@modzarecuckz @emptytalksmedia @Awk20000 I obviously think he is grifting about his political and current issue view points, like I said you're entitled to think he isnt. I can't prove he is just like you can't prove anyone is unless they admit to it.

@ImUrWeakness_ @emptytalksmedia @Awk20000 Asmon has always said the things he’s saying now. Even before back in 2019 before he got political he hinted at the ideas he’s saying now. Nothings changed so what is he grifting about?

@modzarecuckz @emptytalksmedia @Awk20000 Of course it's what grifter means, he makes statements he might not actually believe himself to deceive his audience profit from them. You can think he is not a grifter as it's not actually provable, but you can't just pretend grifter means something different.

@KenRDKAB @jaysutherlanduk @CosmicSkeptic The point of the analogy is that life long theists might believe a god exists the same way you believe your dad exists. So to say to them "I just believe in one less than you" is like saying you don't believe you have a dad. It doesn't do anything to further the debate.

I think @CosmicSkeptic misses the point here. The argument is not about numbers. The point of the "just one more God" argument is that exactly the same reasons for rejecting all other Gods can be applied to the God the theist believes in. His "Dads" analogy just doesn't work.
Alex O'Connor@CosmicSkeptic

I’m getting a lot of hate for this reel. What do you think? (P.S.: if you say “but we have evidence for dads I believe you have missed the point.)

@Waldbalex @ford351gtcobra @Mayzomatic Even if you assume children and the mentally disabled are given a chance to basically hit a random option, does this change the over all vote? do most people consider this? 5% winning margin for blue in a no stakes twitter poll does not give me confidence in a real life scenario.

I was initially a red button guy. Seems like the obvious, more intelligent choice. Everyone in control of their own lives. No one needs to die, just press red However there have been so many people arguing blue that it in turn makes them correct. Way too many people are going to push blue regardless so therefore blue becomes the correct answer

@emptytalksmedia @Awk20000 I think it's because asmon is in the truest sense a grifter, people like shapiro, kirk, destiny, hasan ect believe what they say. Asmon im not so sure, everything he says he looks to his chat for affirmation, he feels the most as if he just says what people want to hear.

It's because Zack's vibes-based political analysis scrolling his Twitter algorithm's echo chamber would never hold up against any kind of challenge or scrutiny in a debate. When he pivoted to more political commentary on his streams he also became more isolated, refusing discussions with anyone who would question his takes.

@Liecham1 @keyokkud All of the staunch blue voters get this feeling of moral superiority because blue lives in the no stakes poll by a mere 5%. The result of this poll reaffirms more than ever that if this were a real thing blue would not be such an easy choice for people to make.

@keyokkud No, everyone survives by pressing red. Red is the button you press to live, pretty simple. If 100% press blue, everyone lives If 100% press red, everyone lives If 51% press blue, everyone lives If 51% press red, all red lives It's about trust but pressing red you always live

@ChrisPacia @wbic16 This is the point I have been stressing to all the people moral grandstanding on their blue vote. It's easy to vote blue on this poll because you actually won't die if its <50%. If the stakes were legitimate people would not be so willing to potentially sacrifice themselves.

You left out that when confront with an actual choice with real world consequence people will vote radically different than how they vote on an internet poll with no consequences. And you also left out that if your blue campaign fails to get 50% + 1 you've successfully maximized the number of people who will die.

@HairyLeggdHarpy Making the right choice is easy when you don't actually have to make the choice. I think red voters are just more grounded in their reality, if this poll were real life and blue voters actually died, the results would be very different.

Hey red button pushers After you've pressed red an evil goblin pulls away the red sticker you didn't notice concealing the blue button - you were distracted, you actually pressed blue. You're given the chance to persuade everyone else how to vote. What do you ask them to do?
