#DeepSeek, justifiably, freaked the tech world out over the weekend. Experts say that while it's a major democratization of "reasoning" AI without the high price, America isn't suddenly in 2nd place. America is still leading in frontier models. cnet.com/tech/services-… @cnet

💢 Six-year-old girl and a woman killed in Israeli attack on tent in Khan Younis The United States continues to facilitate Israel’s daily killing of Palestinian civilians, through full military and political support as Israel ignores the Trump-brokered ceasefire. Minattallah Nabil Abu Libdah, 6, was killed Monday in an Israeli attack on a tent in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. She had reportedly been recovering from a broken arm at the time of her death. Footage shows her father crying uncontrollably at the hospital next to her lifeless body. A second person, 31-year-old woman Hanan Mahmoud, was also killed in the Israeli attack, according to reporting by Mosab Abu Toha.

🚨 Trump demands Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan sign Abraham Accords as condition of Iran deal President Trump posted on Truth Social Monday demanding that all countries involved in Iran negotiations simultaneously sign the Abraham Accords, describing it as a prerequisite for any deal and warning those who refuse would be excluded from the agreement. “It should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords,” Trump wrote, naming Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain as targets. The UAE and Bahrain are already members. 🔸Trump warned: “If they don’t, they should not be part of this Deal in that it shows bad intention.” 🔸He said it “should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit.” 🔸He also dangled Iran’s own potential membership, writing: “If Iran signs its Agreement with me… it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition.” 🔹The Abraham Accords, brokered during Trump’s first term, normalized relations between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Kazakhstan. Trump’s demand would require the mediating countries to recognize Israel and normalize relations as a condition of ending the Iran war — a significant ask given that Saudi Arabia has publicly conditioned any normalization on a credible and irreversible path to Palestinian statehood, a position shared in various forms by Turkey, Egypt, and others on the list. 🔹The demand comes as the U.S. has allowed Israel to continue the daily killing of Palestinians in Gaza for more than seven months since the October 2025 Trump-brokered ceasefire, with over 900 Palestinians killed since the agreement was approved by Israel. The U.S. and Israel are also deliberately blocking minimum levels of food, medicine, shelter, fuel, and reconstruction aid. 🔹President Trump has also removed sanctions on the most violent Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, where rampant state-backed settler violence to uproot Palestinian families has gone unchecked since the start of his second term. 🔹Trump closed his social media post with a warning: “It will only be a Great Deal for all or, no Deal at all — Back to the Battlefront and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever before.”

I have friends that believe all the hate Israel gets is because of antisemitism. They're living in entirely separate information bubbles. Video of the double-tap strike on medics in Lebanon never hit their feeds. Abhorrent and violation Geneva Convention news.sky.com/video/the-para…

It just weeks ago when we ducked and covered at the White House Correspondents Dinner as we heard shots ring out. Last night a man approached a Security Checkpoint just outside the White House, took a gun out of a bag and fired shots at officers, according to Secret Service. Officers fired back, killing the individual. Secret Service personnel were not injured but a bystander was struck by gunfire. Officials say the suspect has a history of incidents involving the White House. I was preparing to go live for World News Tonight when I heard the flurry of shots ring out. We ducked and covered, then Secret Service yelled for us to sprint to the White House Press Briefing room, where we were locked down. @GMA

Zahra Abboud was 27, but her father liked to tell people that she was younger, because, he said, “she’s my baby.” In mid-March, she fled the hillside town of Anqoun after Israel issued an evacuation order for a neighboring area and took refuge in her uncle and aunt’s apartment, in Beirut. Then, on April 8th—the first day of a ceasefire between Iran, Israel, and the United States—some 50 Israeli warplanes launched a ferocious ten-minute barrage of strikes on more than 100 sites across Lebanon. There were no warnings. What had begun as a day of anticipated reprieve would later be referred to in Lebanon as Black Wednesday. It was the deadliest day of the war. Zahra was in a bedroom in her aunt and uncle’s apartment, preparing for the afternoon prayer when a strike hit the building. In the aftermath, she was nowhere to be seen. Twenty bodies, and fragments of others, were recovered from the rubble. Almost all of them were women and children. In the days that followed, Zahra’s brother Ali moved between the strike site and hospitals, chasing every report or rumor of an unidentified victim. “My family was whole, and suddenly, in an instant, I am searching refrigerators in morgues for my sister,“ he said. “May God spare everyone this experience.” Read about a Lebanese family’s desperate search after an Israeli air strike: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/n85-xp

Brother Amin Abdullah was the security guard who was martyred at the Islamic Center of San Diego. He gave his life to protect the lives of countless students and congregants. One of his last Facebook posts said: "What is success? To many people success is financial stability, good reputation, beauty, etc. As for ME! Wallahi, thumma Wallahi. It is returning back to Allah OUR creator with the same pure soul he loaned me at birth. Having the Mala'ikah [angels] of Allahu ta'ala saying "don't fear and don't grieve, but receive the glad tidings of Jannah which you were promised by the Most forgiving and Most Merciful". May Allahu ta'ala grant us Husnal Khatimah, AAAAMEEEEN🤲" May the Most Merciful meet you with those beautiful glad tidings, oh Amin. You're safe now

⭕ The #SanDiego Police Department said the "threat at the Islamic center has been neutralized." The police responded to calls after a gunman opened fire at the #IslamicCenter of San Diego in Clairemont, located at 7050 Eckstrom Avenue. The center also houses a school and Live footage showed children being evacuated across the street. Local media reported at least two killed. All the children were safe, police said. #US #shooting
