@fgasking My distant memory of Blazing Barrels recalls that it was similar to the side scrolling parts of Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa (Arcade, 1992) but slower paced, with no charging and less pewpew:-

@fgasking In hunt for more info on Blazing Barrels (Firebird/Icom) noticed GTW is missing it's advert. Version with screenshots here (I'm not affiliated to the site):

Rolling demo was shown at Earl's Court computer show (CES?) in late 80s/early 90s.
@SCSsoftware Also noticing that ETS2 v1.53.2.5S(64-bit) (specifically eurotrucks2.exe) attempts to connect to 147.75.193.63 every 24 minutes or so. The site is flagged by @Malwarebytes (among others) as malicious... Suspect it's a false positive, but could do with clarification.
@SCSsoftware ETS2 v1.53.2.5S (64-bit) bug?: Poly counts of NPCs drop off the more distant they are from the truck rather than the camera in Photo Mode. I.E Move the camera a short distance from the truck and NPCs are mangled.
@bitmap_books Both "The Art of the Box" and "The Games That Weren't" no longer appear to have "Coming Soon" but appear to be "Sold Out". I understand there's no point offering notifications a few hours before preorders open. How about "Available for preorder later today" instead?
@asmackie@bitmap_books I think, but cannot confirm, that the idea is that is kinda looks a bit like a boxed game.
The page is no longer indicating that it will be on sale today, showing "Sold Out" instead....
@bitmap_books Absolutely silly question I know but why does it say MS-DOS on the book and nowhere in the description on the website it says that this book tied to a certain platform? I recognise some of the game titles but not many, will there be more versions of this book for later in history?
Coming this August: The Art Of The Box is a sumptuous, 564-page celebration of video game box art, featuring interviews and the work of 26 artists from across the last four decades. Sign-up to our newsletter for more details over the coming days bitmap.news#bitmapbooks#videogameart
@graciousfilms1 I don’t suppose there’s any chance that The Rubber Keyed Wonder 1 Hour Archive Bundle could be made available via backerkit for late backers?
@RetroGamer_Mag Love the magazine. Latest iPadOS app update is awful. "My Library" shows just 3 or 6 issue thumbnails at a time (landscape/portrait)! Previous versions allowed 28 issue thumbs per page; vital for long time subscribers. Please can we get option for 28+ thumbs/page?
@hot_piping@Retrotechy@_GearsofGames_@EricRetro@blankfrak Maybe take inspiration for an old isometric game. Something like MOVIE could be good on modern hardware - the draw speeds of the original could be painfully slow. Or how about Nosferatu. OR the holy grail of Ultimate games: an isometric "Mire Mare". 😁
@Retrotechy@_GearsofGames_@EricRetro@blankfrak Yeah, your path in Sabre Wulf would pretty become a series of “rooms”, so a straight section of the path joining onto a section of the path with a T-junction would be 2 rooms. It’d require a *lot* of rooms, though.
@TalkTV@iromg
Easy solution: Fine the water firms 5% of annual turnover everytime they dump sewage into rivers. Fine them 10% annual turnover if it backs up into homes. EU did something similar with GDPR laws (£10mill or 2% worldwide annual turnover) and compliance followed rapidly.
TalkTV's Mike Graham has lashed out at "useless" water companies for spending billions of pounds of billpayers' money to tackle sewage spills.
What do you make of this?
@tandemar Just spent the best part of an hour trying to find out. Not in the LoM or DR manuals. Not found any magazine references so far. Beyond seem to have been a bit v.thin on credits, other than the programmer(s). Perhaps Christopher Jon Wild at icemark.com will know?
@bitmap_books Love your books. Shame on Sega for blocking your MD visual compedium. Have you considered creating a book on isometric games? ❤️Ant Attack, Fairlight, MOVIE, Head Over Heels, Cadaver, Etc.
@THEC64_RGL Is it possible to buy a printed copy of the full-colour ring-bound A500 mini User Guide? My A500 mini came with a quickstart guide only. While the PDF version is useful, it would be good if there was an option to buy printed version (for a reasonable price).
