@Implementnz

My twitter used to be interesting, but now it's all wordle, cats and gardens with the odd political comment thrown in.

Why have we got a cohort of politicians who hanker for the old days... - before the Waitangi tribunal - before knowledge about gender identity - before environmental laws - before climate change knowledge - before NCEA... #anachronistic #outoftouch

I will never get the psychology of someone who, on being waved through a gap in the aisle at a supermarket, stops in the middle of the gap to gaze at the shelf, like they've never realized how many flavors of Dolmio exist...

I've been in my own house for nearly 9 years. Creating my own piece of paradise without having to factor in another person's needs or goals. I've got a vision, but detail changes as I execute the dream. Every so often I have a deja vue moment that this has been my dream forever.

@Tairmuir @RoyalFamily The first Māori king was named in 1858 to unify Māori to protect their rights as promised by the treaty. Initially only one large iwi (tribe) the current queen is recognised widely and has quickly established herself as a unifying leader - following on from her father's legacy.

@Tairmuir @RoyalFamily In 1840 the crown signed a treaty with many Māori leaders. By the 1850s it was apparent to Māori that nothing was being done by the colonising govt to honour promises made. Land was taken and the impacts of colonisation were being felt. The Kīngitanga movement was the result.

Chris Hipkins has said today that “The kiwi dream should not be reserved for the few, it should be delivered for everybody who calls New Zealand home.” He has just called New Zealanders “the few” and that “everybody” should be delivered what we have built. The ‘kiwi dream’ belongs to kiwis who have worked hard for our country, invested time, sweat, pride, and belongs to the generations who share in our country’s history. It is not for just anybody around the world who decides to come to our great country that we have built for their convenience. Politicians like Hipkins use “diversity is a strength” to shut you down, but the choice is in your hands, not in the hands of retail globalists like him.

@AndrewDickson13 @top_nz A few elections ago the questionnaire that determined our political leanings showed TOP as the party I aligned with based on policies I supported - at the time, some left, some right. I haven't explored further but do describe myself as centre/mixed bag. I think many of us are...

@JonoMilne Newsroom piece on the Opportunity Party is good political commentary. It's also a textbook case of a discourse that can't see its own premises. A Lacanian thread. 🧵 1/

The baby I started this for is now two!!! I kept making mistakes with the cable so chucked it in a cupboard. Determined to get it right, pedanticly (is that a word?) recording each row, double checking and counting everything. Not sure who is going to get it now.

@Whatifaltlegion @buperac Maybe get your interpretation of Māori culture from reliable sources. It's called a pūkana. Also not related to a moko kauae. Both have cultural significance.
