Thank you for your response, this will be a long read. No vex.
Jesus clearing the temple (John 2:13-16), curs:ing the fig tree (Mark 11:12-14, 20-21), or Old Testament accounts of judgment, show that God’s character includes justice, holiness, and authority, not just love and mercy.
When Jesus drove out the money changers, it wasn’t random anger. The temple was meant to be a place of worship, but it had been turned into a marketplace, exploiting people spiritually and financially. His zeal was for restoring reverence for God (Psalm 69:9). The fig tree incident is often seen as symbolic—Jesus was illustrating Israel’s spiritual barr:enness, not just lashing out at a plant. It points to the expectation of genuine faith producing fruit. It was for our learning not a random act of mad:ness.
The Old Testament stories, like the flood (Genesis 6-8) or the death of Uzzah (2 Samuel 6:6-7) for touching the Ark, can feel scary. But they reflect God’s holiness and the seriousness of sin in a world that was often br:utal and rebellious. Uzzah’s de:ath, for instance, came after clear instructions about handling the Ark (Numbers 4:15), showing that even good intentions don’t override God’s commands.
I didn't stereotype God, I shared a scripture to tell you that you can't claim to be under the influence/leading/direction/control of the Holy Spirit & be flogging & attac:king people like a wild animal. That spirit wouldn't hesitate in atta:cking even a day-old-baby.
The works of the flesh cannot be hidden, it's like a smoke. On a lighter note, this happened to someone I know, a full grown man claim to be in same possession as this little girl & flo:gged another full grown man with a broom, he collected the broom & flogged the demons out of him. His eye cleared instantly.
You’re right that stereotyping God as only loving or only wrathful misses the mark. Scripture shows He’s both perfectly just and perfectly merciful. So, what justice is this girl dishing out to the toddler & what mercy was shown? Or since you're equating her actions to that of God, has she now become God & dishing out judgement to people? If that were to be my child, she'll not allow herself to be used again after I touch her slightly.
