Mortgages are 7%. Your dollar is losing value every day. Higher Education is being threatened and talented immigration disincentivized or banned. The President is manipulating markets based on bad policy and ideology. This is not a good road we are walking down

Pretty embarrassing day for Trump. Threw a tariff tantrum and couldn’t even move the market 1%. Bonds flat. No juice left. Made sure your dollar was worth less, though. On account of America being run by a moron. Enjoy the long weekend everyone!

Hmm. The barrister sounds good but didn’t actually answer (evidently he’s a good barrister!). The Q is is it right that in our justice system Lucy Connolly does more time than Telford child abusers. Replying by describing the sentencing framework, then saying “educate yourself”, just describes the decision, it doesn’t answer the Q of whether her offence should be more harshly punished than sexually abusing children. #bbcqt

MAGA is doing everything they can to make sure no one who cares about progress, technology, discovery or American exceptionalism has a home on the right. We ought to be doing everything we can to make sure those people have a home on the left.

Mauritius was able to capture the Chagos Islands and defeat the British without firing a shot. There's a potential paper to be written applying the Chinese 'three warfares' framework (public opinion, psychological, and legal warfare) to this case.

I think Kemi has to go too, she should have been leading the opposition to this deal to prevent it - not moaning about it after its done. Terrible opposition politics. Time for Jenrick

Generally, while I might disagree with Labour’s decisions, I can understand why they are making them. The Chagos surrender is so mad, its cost so high, its consequences potentially so severe that it sits alone as an inexplicable act of national self harm. telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/…

I am getting rather fed up with Britain being pathetically humiliated. It didn’t used to be like this, and it doesn’t have to be like this. What’s the appropriate diplomatic response if someone wants our territory? Sod off.

The “handover” of the Chagos Islands today marks the most calamitous foreign policy decision Britain has made in some time. Represents thinking from a bygone era: a time of ‘Cool Britannia’, the 90s, and global norms. That era is dead. The new era will punish this decision.
