The Swiss grid is almost completely carbon free, yet it is largely illegal to install air conditioning in a house in Geneva, without a doctor's note and heat pumps have the a/c mode disabled and fines issued if used. A mean spirited degrowth mindset that transcends class and hides behind an environmental narrative even when it has nothing to do with the environment, like here. This is emblematic of a pathological hatred of the future and progress, that is a threat to Europe.
Atticus@redl3tters

One of my business school friends comes from a wealthy Swiss banking family and lives in the ritzy part of Geneva where the average house is in the tens-of-millions range. When I visit, I stay in his guest room and sweat profusely at night because, for all their wealth, these bozos can’t understand the unmatched pleasure that is a nice, cool room to sleep in at night. Bunch of uncultured rubes.

@chocbloke @DrJacobsRad Hey genius, the posters are meant to help find her, so of course it's an issue if they get removed systematically.

@DrJacobsRad A 14yr old kid is missing, but you got time to talk about a poster that was torn somewhere, and somehow brought October 7 in. Maybe learn to focus on important things and not amplify distractions.

Esti is a 14-year-old autistic child who has been missing for a week in Toronto. Someone has decided to treat the signs meant to help find her the same way they treated the October 7th signs. Why? Because Esti is Jewish. The Canada of my youth has been swallowed whole by hate. Please click on the third image, download it, and post it. Let's do something good. Let's find Esti.

@DrJacobsRad The fact that nobody would have possibly knew she was Jewish except the Jewish community, plus somehow only her posters of the many missing girls posters are being ripped, and only Jewish people are noticing? Sounds like one of your typical Jewish false flag operations to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

@itsolelehmann Und versteckter Anti-Amerikanismus.

Irregular migration has plummeted and spending has exploded under this government. You can think what you like about that. But when it comes to understanding the rise of the AfD, some folk urgently need to update their priors.

Socialist gets elected mayor of Seattle. She says “I think the claims that millionaires are going to leave our state are super overblown. And the ones that leave? Like, bye.” The crowd laughs and cheers. Now, local leaders are worried that they're actually leaving. Starbucks is opening a corporate hub in Nashville, which actually wants business. The mayor says she wants the company to stay. How many times do we have to experience this? How is there never any learning? Socialism isn't just bad economics. It's spiritually rotten to be this hostile to truth and this hateful toward those who contribute most to society.

The birth-rate collapse isn’t just about money, housing, or women choosing careers. The sharper diagnosis: fewer couples. Across the world, young people still say they want kids. But they socialize less, partner less, commit less – and become parents less. Smartphones didn’t make us infertile. They may have made us lonelier. The fertility crisis is really a bonding crisis. ft.com/content/fba35e…

You would do well to read that article, which reports that there is zero credible evidence of any kind. Additionally, the Israeli government did not do any forensics at all -- as reported in that article -- and the allegations that people falsely cite come from Zaka, which withdrew them. There are also zero Israeli women alleging rape. Rape is too important a subject to run on vibes.

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…

@Noahpinion Dictators often have issues to get a realistic picture of their surroundings. Putin was convinced the war would last 3 days. Why? Because everyone around him caters to him. Critics or people who tell the truth have no place in such a system.

In my opinion, yesterday a turning point in the war took place. Perhaps we still do not fully grasp the significance of what happened. For the first time, Putin publicly showed his weakness and inability to independently protect his capital, his parade, and himself from our strikes. Because of this, a frightened Putin was forced to publicly humiliate himself and ask Trump, as a mediator, to help stop a strike on Moscow. De facto, Putin asked Trump to protect him from the Ukrainians. I consider President Zelenskyy’s order a brilliant informational slap in the face and an additional public humiliation. It is obvious that before and during the parade, Putin was physically afraid - he felt vulnerable and threatened. Putin publicly appeared weak and humiliated, and in Russia’s "prison-style" political culture, such things are not forgiven. A weak "tsar," mocked by everyone, cannot remain a tsar in Russia. These are very, very hard times for Ukraine. However, Ukraine is strong, resilient, and continues the fight. Slava Ukraini!

Putin has arrived at Red Square. A massive security presence. It looks like there are almost as many guards as guests. Putin is afraid of his own people - that’s good.
