@vodkasnowflake Jett could play 6 positions and Ewing 4. Bottom line is it could have worked. For instance he probably would be up here right now playing SS. Or playing LF with Soto primarily DHing.

Hmm... Maybe all Baty needed was just to worry about playing his natural position and not have to dispatched all over the diamond because of Sinister Stearns inability to construct a roster.

@antwanstaley It's going to be nice to be on the other side of classic Robert Saleh disciplined team's pre-snap and post play penalties.

@KevoCavo59 If you can show me a person he brought in to player development department that is making a difference I’ll research into it. Otherwise “He overhauled the organization” is just Stearns Truthers talking points.

@InTheMindOfJer It’s an organizational development thing. It’s not blindly following Stearns. Stearns overhauled the organization. That why players made major jumps to the prospects they’ve become, not bc of a manager

@stevebyrnelive She didn’t specify them. She said it in a group format. The camera cut to them. Kevin Hart and Pete Davidson were both there. I’m not even a Chelsea Handler fan. In fact I don’t find her funny. So I’m all for roasting her. If the information is correct.

Chelsea Handler said Tony Hinchcliffe & Shane Gillis went to Saudi Arabia for a comedy festival. When in fact, they were 2 of the few that didn’t take that payday. However she still had dinner with Jeffrey Epstein.

@nickythegood I’m not against keeping Freddy. But I’m for letting him test the market rather than signing in season. He pitched 6 yesterday. But he’s really a 5 inning pitcher. He can’t get paid financially or in years like an Ace. And if they are donzo. They should look to trade him.

Good Morning. I like Pete, but he's letting the shitstorm creating by Stearns cloud his judgement. Freddy is solid. He competes and he can limit damage and guess what, yesterday, he was good (again). ERA dropped. Extend Freddy. Don't walk, run and get it done.
Pete Hoffman@HoffWFAN

I can't wait for the Mets to trade Freddy Peralta... Just so David Stearns can sign him to a deal in the off-season... And claim its because of "Run Prevention" GET THESE MILWAUKEE BUMS OUT OF HERE!!!

@Masterflip_ You're not a true Mets fan if you gutlessly follow and defend every bad decision they make. Sometimes if you love something you have to root for mistakes to be rectified. Things to be torn down and rebuilt properly.

You’re not a true Mets fan if you’re already counting down the days until they trade Freddy Peralta. What you’re really saying is you want the team to sink even further below .500 to have the trade conversation. That’s just bad fandom.

@SleeperMets It’s not a steal at all Robert was a deeply depreciating asset that was not been a good player or healthy in over 2 years. Making any kind of move for him was foolish period. This is not even factoring in 20 million salary and a 2 million buy out. It was a bad move period.

@Ben_Yoel I would prefer at least a year before #9 goes back into circulation. I kinda like #2. So he’s 2 and Benge is 3. But they ain’t DFAing Brujan yet.

Why is Brock Pierce, who had to flee the country to escape charges of drugging & sexually abusing boys, and who's name appears in the Epstein files DOZENS of times, front and center next to Trump's "spiritual advisor" at the dedication of Trump's "golden statue?"

@michaelgbaron @dmorales125 I think it’s more than a statement. And is important to happen before June 1st. Is David Stearns the one you you want scouting prospect talent to acquire in expiring contract trades like Peralta and Holmes. If he the one you negotiating with other teams on off loading contracts.

@dmorales125 Well, firing David Stearns now won't change what's on the field now. The buck stops with him, no doubt, but firing him is a statement move and that's it.

It might be time for the #Mets to start sizing up trade value on their roster. So, I looked at a couple of players who will (and probably are now) be in demand in the coming weeks, and try and reason through this disastrous season to-date. justmets.net/p/it-might-be-…

@SleeperMets Devers is an awful baseball player with a contract that goes on for 7 more years and 30+. That would would be a moronic trade in every aspect.

When Rafael Devers is at his best, he has the ability to be a top 15-20 hitter. Making the move would allow the Giants to offload the contract — giving the Mets a foundational piece next to Juan Soto.
SleeperMets@SleeperMets

The Giants are “reportedly” looking to offload the contract of Rafael Devers, per @BNightengale THOUGHTS: The Mets should at least make an effort and see what the current asking price is. It’ll likely cost very little prospect depth just to add Devers.

@Roger774501171 Here’s the thing about Baty. He’s too valuable a roster resource, even if it’s ultimately as a pure bench player. But he plays 5 positions now all at least moderately well. Would you rather the Austin Slater’s of the world as the bench players.

Brett Baty is a .230 hitter that’s it period end of story. He hit a double at 100 mph 🥱 . Take him and the exit velocity the hell out of here . Baty, Vientos and Alavarez have been held onto way to long by this franchise, and what has it ever won us ? . Time for a change . LGM

@pladinosaur What debate. He’s on the worst 10 month run in personal moves in history of organized sports. And communication is part of the job. And especially if your Personnel grade is an F-, you need to be better at communicating.

David Stearns’s job is not to make players happy, but to build a good baseball team. We can absolutely debate if he’s doing a good job on the latter, but I am just sick of hearing about whatever a player or the Mets’ beat thinks of him. I just don’t give a shit.

This decade alone the Mets have been run by a Sex Pest a Drunk who traded PCA and Brodie Van Wagenen, I’m begging you people to get serious
Justin@JustinCLeto

David Stearns will go down as the worst executive to ever run a NY sports team. Years from now there will be case studies on how poorly he mismanaged the @Mets and how his narcissism and refusal to recognize failure caused immense harm to this team. Coupled with the fact that during his tenure, the Mets have more resources than they ever have had, @StevenACohen2 decision to place Stearns at the helm will be viewed as his greatest business failure and will overshadow anything great he’s done in the world of finance. David Stearns has caused so much damage and continues to. And cohen sits idly by and watches. As a fan it is just so sad to watch.

@RyanGarciaESM When the logic is worrying about potential dead money on the backend, but meanwhile you acquire what essentially 40 million in dead money this year between Polanco and Robert. Then you give a crazy number to Bichette. You’re creating a crazy upfront number.
