The red/blue button question is pointless, because nobodies life is actually on the line. People say they will push the blue button because there's no actual risk of death. The majority of those people would press the red button if there actually was.

funny that the only reason they can think for someone to not press the red button is that they assume that half of everyone are going to choose the blue button.

@wokenessucks You let your fear and doubts cloud your judgement, so much so that you failed to realize blue was never gonna lose regardless. Can you really call it a gamble if you know you're gonna win.

The problem with the red button/blue button thing is that blue button people still live with this filter over their eyes that distorts reality. They lack the self-awareness to realize that if they were actually in that situation in real life, they’d push the red button too. That’s exactly why they get so mad and take it personally when we don’t see it their way. They call us immoral and evil. But we see the world realistically. They don’t. When you factor in the other 8 billion people on Earth and the raw fear of possibly dying, there’s zero chance 51% hit the blue button. 95–98% of people would take the guaranteed safe option and choose red. We know this because we deal in reality, not fantasy. For us red-button people, pushing blue is suicide. Is it sad that out of 8 billion some will inevitably hit blue and die? Yes. But if blue is suicide, I’m still hitting red. The vast majority of blue button people lack the self-awareness to know how they’d actually react under pressure. They’re the morons who die first in horror movies.

See, the issue with your graph here is it lies. The blue button doesn't save everyone. Not unless 50% or more people press it. And the red button doesn't kill by default either. It kills no one if enough people pick blue. And it will NEVER kill the person who presses it.

i cannot comprehend people who press blue it is literally mathematically equivalent to press this button to kill yourself unless more than 50% people did the same thing.

@dead_baseball Haven't found a single compelling argument for blue. Blue voters are a tad suicidal.

The annoying thing about the button question is the conclusions people are making. No, not everyone that concludes red is a murderous psychopath. Not, not everyone that concludes blue is virtue signaling and claiming moral high ground. There are legitimate arguments for both.

It is fascinating how a hypothetical where everyone lives if they press red has the far left enraged. They see not potentially committing suicide as murder because apparently they are too stupid to not cause a problem for themselves.
