2/ This update: ✅ Boosts fairness 💧 Unlocks liquidity 🔓 Removes long-standing barriers 🌐 Accelerates decentralization Here’s what’s changing — and why it matters. 👇 x.com/hatomprotocol/… Try it out now!🔥 #Hatom #EGLD #Staking
Hatom Labs@HatomProtocol

From Transaction-Based to Epoch-Based: A Smarter Delegation Mechanism Previously, delegation followed a transaction-based logic. Each staking transaction was immediately assigned to a validator selected by the algorithm. Delegations can vary from 1 $EGLD to 2000 $EGLD, which can have a disproportionate effect in the short term, especially during periods of high volatility, as providers with poor scores will be chosen less often in terms of number of transactions, but fortunately receive larger amounts. This has had the effect of enabling small providers to grow extremely quickly, but just as much as withdrawing a large share of the stake allocated to others. To improve this, we’re transitioning to an epoch-based delegation system. Now, all delegations and undelegations will be aggregated over a 24-hour period. At the end of each epoch, the system distributes them across validators using an upgraded scoring algorithm, ensuring consistency, fairness, and efficiency. Micro-Staking and Instant Unstake This change unlocks powerful features that directly benefit users: - Minimums removed. You can now stake as little as 0.01 $EGLD, or even less, empowering new users and democratizing participation. - Instant unstake enabled. Because delegations are finalized only once per epoch, all stake amounts gathered during that period remain temporarily unstaked. This pool of pending stake acts as a liquidity buffer, allowing users to instantly unstake $sEGLD for $EGLD, bypassing the traditional 10 days unbonding period. Staking, once limited by thresholds and timelines, is now defined by freedom, flexibility, and fairness. The New Scoring Model: Designed for Decentralization To complement the new delegation logic, we’ve also updated the validator scoring model. Historically, scores were calculated using: - APR - TVL (total $EGLD delegated) - Service fees Now, we’re introducing a 4th parameter: NQT — Node Qualification Threshold This score evaluates how close a validator is to losing or gaining a node based on #MultiversX’s validator auction list. It adds context to the validator’s situation, especially for smaller providers. This has two major implications: 1. Validators on the edge of gaining or losing a node receive dynamic delegation support. 2. The scoring system now actively favors smaller, fee-efficient validators who are structurally more vulnerable. In short: a small validator with 0% service fees and almost enough delegations to qualify for an additional node will now receive a significantly higher score, giving them the edge they need to grow and contribute more to the network. Same approach applies for validators losing a node in the auction list with only a few $EGLD needed to qualify again. This opens up a whole new avenue for network efficiency, sparking competition that pushes validators to reduce their fees for their delegators, as this benefits them at crucial moments. The Impact: A Step Closer to the Full Vision At Hatom, we’re continuously refining every layer of the ecosystem, not for short-term gains, but to bring the entire architecture one step closer to the final vision: a seamless and fully optimized DeFi experience. This upgrade pushes us further toward that goal by: - Giving users more freedom with no minimums, no lock-ins (as long as liquidity allows), and full control over their assets. - Making the protocol more intelligent with smarter delegation logic and real-time liquidity design. - Strengthening the network’s foundation by empowering smaller providers and decentralizing delegation across the board. Every improvement compounds. Every mechanism feeds into the next.

Since the beginning, we’ve approached Liquid Staking not as a product, but as a foundational DeFi primitive. One designed to empower users, support validators, and fuel the broader @MultiversX ecosystem. Today, that foundation gets stronger. 👇

💻Learning to Code on MvX #006 Wrote my first blackbox test for a MultiversX smart contract in Rust! 🧑‍🚀🦀 I continue having to prioritize other stuff over coding. In the first month, I was studying ~1.5h/day. Now, an average of 45min/day seems too good to be true. Still, could advance pretty well! My most recent accomplishment was (FINALLY) being able to write, debug, and run a blackbox test on MultiversX. I was getting many errors before, and it took me over a month to figure out a solution. Yesterday was a great day once it finally worked as expected. And, yes, I'm working on, what I believe, is a pretty cool (although super simple) smart contract that I plan to deploy on devnet soon enough for further testing and to share with you. I wrote the sc from scratch using some references for a similar Web2 CLI tool I also wrote in Rust with tutorials and AI help (that I'm using daily for work-related stuff). Besides Rust, I also started diving into Python — by accident, lol. Long story short, I needed a script to download and organize thousands of images from a website for @ririro_com. Had @grok's help to write and understand a script in Python that worked pretty well and motivated me to study this language a bit. I plan to try something MultiversX-related with the Python SDK. During this time, I've also read: 📖Working in Public: The Making and Maintenance of Open Source Software — which was a great read and super recommended; 📖Cybersecurity for Dummies — which was mostly too basic for what I already knew, but introduced a few new interesting concepts and ideas.
