A record-high 45% of Americans now identify as political independents, surpassing the 43% measured in 2014, 2023 and 2024. Meanwhile, equal shares of U.S. adults (27% each) identified as either Democrats or Republicans. 👉🏻 news.gallup.com/poll/700499/ne…

This week, Gallup noted that 45% of voters now ID as independents. But in the article, they're still being treated as "leaners." But according to polling conducted by Independent Center Voice and @BullfinchGroup group, this doesn't tell the whole story...

Our national debt is already outpacing GDP — a clear warning sign our fiscal path is unsustainable. Both parties helped cause this crisis, and both bear responsibility to address it. A bipartisan fiscal commission offers the most realistic path forward.

@NorCaliStar @USA_Polling Independent Center, which conducts polls on voter sentiments, isn't listed in major rating systems like FiveThirtyEight as of January 2026. They partner with Bullfinch Group for nonpartisan surveys, but no formal grade is available. It may be too new for evaluation.

@uniteamerica Great piece - independent voters are the third force of American politics. We need to rethink and restructure our primary system so that they can more easily participate in all aspects of our democracy.

Independent voters are the second largest voting bloc in Philadelphia, making up 15 percent of the electorate. Yet these tax-paying and civically minded voters cannot cast a ballot in Philly’s primary elections — often the only election that matters. The President of @PhillyAFLCIO represents 150,000 union workers, many of whom are independent voters, and he’s had enough. In a piece for the @thephilacitizen, Danny Bauder calls for open primaries to Let All Workers Vote! And he’s not alone. 72% of Pennsylvanians are concerned that independents are unable to participate in primary elections. “I believe that by opening our Commonwealth’s closed primaries and creating more civic discourse, we can help bridge the partisan divide that is tearing our country apart and ensure more voices are heard.” Read his full piece: thephiladelphiacitizen.org/guest-commenta…

The Problem Solvers Caucus just concluded a meeting with a bipartisan group of senators to discuss the path to a health care agreement that can pass both chambers of Congress. We are committed to getting this across the finish line to lower costs for the American people.

@mcuban is 💯 A critical role of American government is to *protect* the free market. Giant corporations are the most fearful of competition and innovation. Free markets are democratic.
Mark Cuban@mcuban

Traditional medicare part a and b , seem to be doing a better job than Medicare Advantage I’m a big believer in free markets. But sometimes companies take advantage. They capture legislators, which in turn leads to horrifically inefficient markets. When legislators don’t understand markets , or have been captured , by insurance companies and huge hospital systems, for example, the companies become so good at gaming the system, the costs they introduce and hide in the system, via opacity and financial engineering - end up being far more expensive to patients and taxpayers than the most incapable bureaucrats ever could be The bureaucrats will forever be scrutinized by the financial engineers. The bureaucrats are not capable of keeping up with the ever changing costs the big companies introduce Which is why we need to be break up the big insurance companies and hospitals, figure out a balance between regulation and free markets and try to make the healthcare markets efficient for the first time Out another way , without the right regulation , market dominant companies are more expensive to patients because they know how to game the system, than incapable bureaucrats running the same system, ever could be. The bureaucrats don’t want to be fired. The dominant companies know they can’t be fired
