IndiaTech.org in partnership with the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru, conducted the first round of stakeholder consultation as part of the ongoing policy research titled “Rethinking Digital Lending: A Case for Inclusion of NBFCs in the Credit Line on UPI Infrastructure.” The discussion brought together diverse perspectives from across the ecosystem to deliberate on the evolving role of UPI as digital public infrastructure, the design of credit delivery over it, and the broader questions of inclusion of NBFCs, competition, and regulatory architecture. As we close 2025, we’ve been reflecting on the year at IndiaTech.Org. We chose to tune out the noise to focus on one singular vision: enabling the Indian startup ecosystem to become globally competitive. Here are the themes that defined our year: 1. Relevance over Scale We deepened our role as a solution partner for startups and unicorns. While our scope expanded across new sectors, our focus remained constant: delivering practical, founder-relevant policy guidance that prioritises long-term impact. 2. Policy Meets Practice We spent the year operating at the intersection of regulation and reality. From virtual assets to e-commerce, taxation reforms to ease of vehicle ownership, financial inclusion to clean mobility, evolving fintech landscape to emerging technologies, we worked towards specific policy unlocks that enable sustainable growth for the ecosystem. 3. Collaboration that Adds Context The IndiaTech.Org ecosystem expanded with mission-driven organizations working in frontier tech and deep science. Closer partnerships with policy research and analysis platforms helped us stay grounded in what’s changing - and respond thoughtfully on issues like gig economy frameworks, digital rights, and emerging tech regulation. 4. Conversations that Matter Listening came first. Solutions followed. Through IndiaTech Dialogues, we moved beyond commentary into constructive action, uniting founders, policymakers, legal experts, and investors for a comprehensive deliberation of policy issues. 5. Recognition, with Perspective Receiving the India Startup Catalyst Award was a humbling reminder that consistent, collective effort is what shapes policy outcomes. It was a moment to honour a journey that began seven years ago. 6. Community, Always To the founders building for India and the globe, and the partners who placed their faith in us. You shaped 2025. Thank you for your trust.
