@DrNeilStone Yeah, what a weak, feckless POS your PM is. Can believe how far Britain has fallen. On the other hand, your government is allowing an Muslim invasionnofnyour country. You have that going for you.

GEN. JACK KEANE: "We should not extend the ceasefire deadline. That gives us the muscle to get them right now... to admit that they're going to give us everything that we need to do to put this to an end once and for all." "And if they don't do that, then the blockade continues and we rearm and we get back into combat operations." "They want to kick the can down the road, in terms of extending the ceasefire, so they can get better terms later on. That's who they are... and even when they agree to terms... we got to recognize these guys are liars and cheats and we've got to stay on top of them." | @gen_jackkeane

@Keir_Starmer Hate to be redundant, but you’re feckless and weak. GB is a shell of its former self. France has always been full of followers and cowards. Europe is eroding.

It’s good news that the Strait of Hormuz has now reopened. This must be a long lasting and workable solution, without tolls or restrictions on routes. Today we announced our joint plan with France and other international partners to protect freedom of navigation. We need to see a return to peace and stability, and a permanent ceasefire.

@jsolomonReports I hope Trump puts a tariff on the pope and church. Hit the Catholics in the wallet and they’ll shut up.

This evening I went to Mass at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in DC. Cardinal McElroy gave an incredible homily against the Iran war. He called it “immoral” numerous times. And he ended with: “No. Not in our name. Not at this moment. Not with our country.” There was a huge applause.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

@ChristopherHale @Pontifex needs to stay in his lane and out of politics. Considering the church has idolized self and money for millennia, he is being a hypocrite accusing others of this. TAX THE CHURCH.

In his strongest condemnation yet of the Trump-Vance war against Iran, Pope Leo XIV said today: “We are surrounded by a delusion of omnipotence that’s becoming increasingly unpredictable and aggressive.” “We are met by threats instead of invitations to come together. “Those who pray don’t threaten death. Death enslaves those who have turned their backs on God and turned themselves and their own power into a mute, blind, and deaf idol. “They demand the whole world bends their knee. Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! “True strength is shown in serving life!”

In a time when companies are increasingly prioritizing profits over people, and when interest in labor unions continues to grow amid economic uncertainty, the principles articulated in Rerum Novarum are poised to resonate once again. The encyclical’s emphasis on the dignities of work, the value of workers, and the moral obligations of employers has newfound relevance today: justcauseteamsters.substack.com/p/leos-legacy

UPS just admitted its illegal driver buyout scheme is a major contract violation. Faced with a flood of grievances from members at nearly 37 local unions, UPS withdrew the insulting buyout in the Teamsters Central Region. UPS Teamsters are sending a loud message to management: our good union careers are not for sale. The Teamsters urge UPS to take the next right step and dismantle its illegal buyouts nationwide.

The CBS radio network played a remarkable role in our history & the evolution of broadcast journalism. It produced some of the most iconic reporting & spawned many of the greatest broadcast journalists of the 20th century. The legacy is enormous. Its shuttering, a jarring crosswords.
Brian Stelter@brianstelter

A second memo from Bari Weiss and Tom Cibrowski says CBS News Radio is shutting down. Here's the memo: Today, we informed our CBS News Radio team and approximately 700 affiliated stations that we will end the service on May 22, 2026. Unfortunately, this decision means that all positions within the CBS News Radio team are being eliminated.  We understand how difficult this news is for our staff and their colleagues, who have worked side by side with us to cover some of the most significant stories of our time. While this was a necessary decision, it was not an easy one.  A shift in radio station programming strategies, coupled with challenging economic realities, has made it impossible to continue the service.  We are sharing this announcement now to fulfill our commitments to our radio partners and affiliates, which require advance notice of the service’s conclusion. For nearly 100 years, CBS News Radio has delivered original reporting to the nation—from Edward R. Murrow’s World War II reports in London to today’s daily White House updates.  Our signature broadcast, “World News Roundup,” remains the longest-running newscast in the country.  CBS News Radio served as the foundation for everything we have built since 1927. The coming weeks will be difficult for the team members who have worked tirelessly at CBS News Radio.  We are committed to supporting these valued colleagues with care and respect as we wind down operations.  They have been critical to our success and remain treasured friends and professionals.  We thank them deeply for their contributions. Thank you all for your dedication and for the compassion you show one another as we move forward. Bari and Tom
