However, we were disappointed at lack of breakthroughs in other areas. EU engaged intensively on: fisheries subsidies, agriculture & WTO reform. Agreements were within reach, supported by a big majority, but ultimately blocked by a handful of countries – sometimes just 1. 3/4

💚 48 WTO members have presented tools to enhance transparency on fossil fuel subsidies, and set out detailed work plan to take forward to phase them out and to Paris Agreement objectives. 2/3 #MC13AbuDhabi

The EU also took part in a conversation with 76 wto members on 💚Trade policy's contribution to a circular economy 💚Trade related climate policies 💚Trade facilitation in green goods, tech and services. A good day for trade and the environment is a good day for the WTO. 3/3

Welcoming the EU’s Director General for Taxation and Customs Union, Mr @gerass_thomas for an information session on the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). The session enabled many members from developing countries and emerging markets to share their concerns about the EU’s CBAM and to receive some constructive responses, including the way forward.
