@phxroadrunner @JFreshHockey But the side benefit of eliminating the incentive to tank is also nice, in part because, even if there is no actual tanking (debatable) it would also eliminate tanking discourse, which is voluminous and annoying.

@phxroadrunner @JFreshHockey That's true - the main benefit is turning the stories that fans get to tell into better stories, making everybody enjoy the sport more. Some team is gonna pick first overall and with Gold drafting they get a great story about how their awful year became great.

Wonk note: Based on the way this is built, it seems that his y-limits are just the symmetrical higher absolute value of the 2nd best or worst team. So, rn, that's Tampa. Colorado is more than twice as far from zero, which means they double up the y-limit crossing Chicago's xaxis
