🚨 Imagine being so hungry as a child that your only “toy” is an empty Happy Meal box… because the adult in charge won’t feed you. That’s exactly what prosecutors say happened in Minnesota. 25-year-old stepmother Vivian Wahlstrom has been sentenced to 57 months in prison after pleading guilty to child torture. Investigators say her young stepdaughter was beaten, starved, and locked in a bare room, sometimes so desperate she ate paint chips just to survive. Prosecutors called it one of the most disturbing child abuse cases the state has seen. A little girl was treated worse than an animal, while the person responsible for protecting her became her tormentor. 57 months for torture and starvation of a child. Is that really justice? 😡

@ohgeetimesthree @izthisJudah You might notice that the black kid hit first. Just as in the original video the black woman was aggressive like hell first.

@MTClassical There is that old joke: what is the difference between the doctor and the patient on the psych ward? The doctor has the keys.

I got a haircut today from a woman who just finished a degree in counseling and is interning while cutting hair. She said the most interesting classes she took were on human disorders. After asking about those, I asked what a well-ordered soul looks like. She said that isn't the right question. Well what is the right one? If counseling is about identifying disorders, doesn't that presuppose that there is an order toward which one would point their patient? "I don't understand what you are asking." I'm sure there are good counselors out there, but almost every conversation I've had with one out in the wild have brought to light that very damaged people who don't have a clear vision of the human soul and its highest possibilities, are being paid money to help people with their problems. The blind leading the blind.

@wulfekej @streetbrawls97 I don't think that rule was made for women like this one here. You can't expect men to be passive punching bags. Where I was raised everyone was taught not to hit the other one.

@streetbrawls97 Our society has ridiculously degraded.I was raised to never hit a woman. And any man who hits a woman, is a coward. If a woman acts crazy, just restrain her without causing injury, or remove yourself from the situation. that was the prevailing 'gentlemens code' back in the day

@GriftReport I am on the side of the council for this one. All rose tinted glasses and rainbows until 40 cats start to shit in your garden. Instead of feeding she should catch them and bring them to an animal shelter.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo No they did not. The Russians did. Literally. The clergy allowed abortions because the Russian army raped everyone in sight.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo No they did not. The USSR f..ed up the country so much in 40 years that after they at last left, we could not perform on the international market any more. If the US occupied us after WWII we would be like West Germany. And that's what you have to understand.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo Dude you just proved with some comments that you know absolutely nothing, but you keep repeating the Soviet propaganda again and again. No. Holodomor was 100% on the USSR collectivization.

@Ingrid_grep @sleepy_devo “Dozens of other countries” bro the USSR was 1 singular country. Russians were proportionately underrepresented in the Soviet gov, but Russia had the largest population so it made sense for Russian to be the common language that everyone could understand and speak.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo Oh really? After 45 the Russians took everything from the country, whole plants, animals, and yes people too. Then they forbade us from performing on the open market. See that dip in the 90s? That's when we met the open market and the country almost collapsed.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo No the Holodomor was entirely man made famine, caused by the shit USSR "economic" methods. No such famine is known before in that region which is a huge grain producing region. It says all that the soviets managed to create famine in a region known for producing food.

@Ingrid_grep @sleepy_devo A huge factor of what caused the famine was a poor crop yield due to weather. Response was slow due to local officials under reporting the scale of the issue, but the central government did provide relief once they found out about the problem.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo What? You mean Russia has the right to force dozens of other countries to learn their language that nobody cares about? My language is not a regional language, we are an entirely different country. There is no "nation". There never was. Go move to Russia if you love them so much.

@Ingrid_grep @sleepy_devo What? You mean a single united country has to have a common language so people can understand each other across the nation? No way! Tell me though, were there any laws against the use of your regional language? The answer is no, there were not.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo Their economy is desperately dependent on the purchasing power of the West. They just had a house building bubble. Check tofu houses. They arrest people for corruption and then make a scene. Once in a while. The West does the same without parading them.

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo Holodomor was a genocide. It was an absolutely artificial crisis because of the forced shit the USSR did to them. Eastern Europe did not have massive economic growth, they were artifically kept behind, it crashed the whole region after the USSR collapsed. We were decades behind.

@Ingrid_grep @sleepy_devo Eastern Europe saw massive economic growth considering they weren’t receiving free money from America. Holodomor wasn’t a genocide and didn’t even impact Ukraine as hard as it impacted other regions Depends what you mean by “what the Chinese are doing?”

@MidwesternML177 @sleepy_devo "How come they spent so much ... celebrating the cultures of the various SSRs that made up the Union" lol They celebrated my country so much that there is a word for it: Russification. We had to learn Russian, read Russian books, they pushed Russian everywhere. HAD TO

@Ingrid_grep @sleepy_devo Bro lmfao, if the USSR was Russian imperialism, how come Russians were basically always under represented by proportion of the population within the Soviet government? How come they spent so much time and money celebrating the cultures of the various SSRs that made up the Union?

@Ingrid_grep @sleepy_devo Nah, the thing with China is that the state has authority over business unlike in a capitalist state. Furthermore, corruption is actually rooted out unlike in the west. Also they can criticize the system and government policies, they just can’t advocate for overthrow of the state
