Kudos to local #Roscommon teenagers who investigated and saved the dogs by placing wet towels over the glass to block the sun. Well done also to local hotel staff for seeking assistance from @GardaTraffic. Family arrived back before Gardaí and released the dogs who are ok.

In Hodson Bay car park beside Lough Ree near #Athlone today a family parked and left their glass-hatchbacked car in 28 degrees of heat with their dogs locked in the boot. Windows slightly open. Luckily one dog escaped to the front of the car and set off the alarm.

Had a great couple of days with family on the Shannon between Banagher and Lough Ree. Boat hire is v dear but it’s a brilliant way to see the country if you can split the cost. People are so friendly and helpful. Clonmacnoise is a gem. Shannonbridge & Athlone looking great too.
