We tabled the 2026/2027 Budget of the Gauteng Provincial Government under the theme, ‘The audacity of hope: A collective commitment to building a resilient Gauteng’, demonstrating our audacity to hope and our stubborn refusal to accept that internal and external factors are insurmountable. The 2026/2027 budget amounts to R179.2 billion, an increase of R3.6 billion from 2025/26 to 2026/27, reflecting 2% year-on-year growth, while over the 2026 MTEF period the budget grows by 5.2%. Economic projections for the medium-term point to steady recovery with provincial economic growth expected to reach 2.1% in 2026 - significantly above the national average.
