During one of our sessions at the Maitama District Hospital, our #WBFA Nurse Midwife provided information to mothers in NICU on topics which included; Proper Baby Hygiene, Breast pump and its Benefits and also the importance of Exclusive breastfeeding. She explained that exclusive Breastfeeding lowers your baby's risk of allergies. Also, babies who are breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months, without any formula, have fewer infections and iillnesses. She also emphasised the role of hygiene in protecting their babies from infection, Which includes Proper hand hygiene, and Regular Sanitation of the environment. With Continuous engagements with Mothers, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa strives to enhance the care and outcomes for premature babies, empowering mothers to play a crucial role in their infants’ early development and health. #Thrivethursday

48 hours after the unveiling of the report, I joined the Minister of Health & Social Welfare - Prof @muhammadpate, @GlobalFund, @USAmbGHSD and @PMIgov Global Malaria Director in a joint high level field visit to commercial state Kano.
