@CCL2K30 The U8 half of your video is AI-generated. The rear is a Fangchengbao Bao 8 (which can drive on 3 wheels now) and the front is a Yangwang U8 (which cannot drive on 3 wheels).

@zeydou @42how_ Quite possible given even Seagulls are getting God's Eye B now, but there are still developing markets that won't get that kind of ability for some time. I hope we never start asking humans not to drive, though I've said for a while if it was all autonomous now, it would work.

@InsideChinaAuto @42how_ Do you think that in 10 years 90% of the cars sold will have autonomous capacity? Another one, how many years before we can't accept people driving themselves on public roads

Elon Musk predicts that in 10 years, 90% of driving will be autonomous, making manual driving niche. He notes autonomous vehicles are already operating without safety drivers in Texas.

@zeydou @42how_ I don't think in ten years 90% will be autonomous, and really there are bigger questions about that number. 90% of all driving on earth, or just in the USA, or what? I don't think 90% of cars on the road now were made in the last decade so why would that change in 10 more?

@VahanWarta Interesting that they're badging this a BYD in the UK and not going down the Denza route like in other markets.

BYD is officially bringing the Ti7 to the UK and it’s going big. The brand’s first 7-seater SUV for the UK market packs: ✅ 5.1m full-size SUV footprint ✅ DM-p plug-in hybrid tech ✅ Dual-motor AWD setup ✅ 0-62 mph in just 4.8 sec ✅ 79 miles EV-only WLTP range At 5,146 mm long, the Ti7 instantly enters the large family SUV space with a strong road presence and rugged styling. BYD is clearly moving beyond “affordable EV maker” positioning and stepping into premium lifestyle-oriented family SUVs globally. Could this be a preview of what markets like India may eventually get too? ⚡ #BYD #BYDTi7 #ElectricVehicles #PHEV #SUV #AutoNews #EVs

@lovecarindustry This is technically the 3rd gen you're showing as a significant update to the first-gen, the Atto 3 EVO, retains the overall look of the first-gen but moves to RWD amongst other things. The West will get the 2nd-gen for now and the 3rd-gen will likely follow in a year or so.

Following the intense Chinese competition and their short time product renewal, BYD is now presenting the 2nd gen of the BYD Yuan Plus (Atto 3). It’s different in all senses. BYD might keep the 1st gen for a long as it is likely to position the new one as more upmarket model

This is the complex net of the current collaborations among the Chinese car makers. Basically they are all connected through joint-ventures, alliances, or simple collaborations that go from the manufacturing of cars to tech developments. #carindustryanalysis #ƒelipemunoz

@TychodeFeijter Judging by the rear and the dimensions, this would look to be an update of the 008, suggesting they'll go M7 or something 7 with the next-gen 007 (that curiously came before the 008). Very decent car the 008 so this should do well and will likely end up in export markets like Oz.

@ZacksJerryRig @BYDCompany @Tesla To be fair, BYD's ADAS system isn't that great, certainly not top-tier like Huawei and XPeng, and, at least last time I tried it, not up there with Zeekr, NIO, and Li Auto, but I'm looking forward to putting it through my usual test when I get chance.

Look what we just spotted: the new ONVO L60. Aside from the tweaked front fascia, they've integrated some high-gloss lines right into the black cladding running around the bottom of the car (it used to be just solid black). We also noticed a brand-new 20-inch wheel design. Inside, the faux suede on the seatbacks has been swapped out for leather. $NIO #ChinaEV #NEV

Real-world shots of the new ONVO L60 are out. The exterior tweaks mainly come down to a reworked front bumper and a new watchtower-style LiDAR setup. If they stick to a dual-track strategy—offering both pure vision and LiDAR variants—I’m guessing the entry-level price might drop even further. Just a hunch. #ONVO #ChinaEV #NEV

OK, so I've had a lot of questions about Chinese Car Warranties - so I am going to do a review of each manufacturer over a few weeks to see how they stack up to their claims. MG is another company that claims a 7 year warranty and their website proudly states "All models - 7 year factory warranty (from 01.09.2019)". Whilst this is true for most parts, there are some limitations. The following parts are only covered for 3 years or 45,000 miles: • Wheel Bearings. • Ball Joints. • Track Rod Ends. • Dampers & Struts. • Rubber Components. • Infotainment system. Then there are some parts covered for 3 years or 60,000 miles. • The EV Charging Door is covered for 12 months for cars registered before 01/01/25 and 3 years or 60,000 miles for cars registered after this. • Paintwork warranty is 3 years or 60,000 miles. • Catalytic Convertors is 12 months for cars registered before 01/01/25 or 3 years or 60,000 miles on or after. • Drive Belts are also only covered for 3 years or 60,000 miles. (Quite a big one as this can cause your whole engine to be kaput). Clutch: • The Clutch Components are covered for 2 years or 30,000 miles. Hire or Reward Limits: • Petrol MG's used for Hire or Reward are covered for 12 months or 20,000 miles. • EV & Hybrid MG's used for Hire or Reward are (interestingly) covered for 3 year or 60,000 miles if they're registered before 22/03/2024 or 3 years or 80,000 miles if registered on or after this date. (You also have to inform MG that you are using your car for hire or reward or your warranty could be void). Recovery: • All MG's come with 1 years AA cover and then recovery is only given if you have your car serviced at MG. Battery: • The 12v Battery is covered for 12 months with a max claim of £150. • The EV battery is covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles upto 70% of its capacity. Tollerance: • In order to maintain your warranty you must service the car in line with the Manufacturers recommendations and parts within 28 days or 1000 miles of it becoming due. • Obviously there are quite a few serviceable items that have lower limits too but I haven't mentioned them as I would be here all day. My thoughts: In some ways the MG offering is similar to Jaecoo/Omoda/Chery in that they advertise a 7 year warranty, but there are limitations. However, MG don't advertise the 7 year warranty quite so heavily as the above mentioned (who mention it no fewer than 5 times on their warranty page). They also don't exclude bigger ticket items like Alternators, Fuel Pumps, Oil Pumps, Starter Motors, A/C Compressor or Window Regulators from their limited 3 year cover, so in that way they are better. However the Recovery is less, unless you have it serviced at MG and in general it's quite a complicated warranty document. I still think the advertising standards authority should look at both Jaecoo and MG, as here are two companies proudly saying 7 years warranty, but frankly there are a lot of parts not covered for 7 years that a consumer could fall foul of.

@InsideChinaAuto China's EV penetration went from 4% to 61% in a decade. NIO, Xpeng, and Li Auto just launched three flagship SUVs in 12 days — all priced between 55K and 55K and 91K. That's not disruption at the entry level anymore. That's a direct assault on BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS territory.

Not content with their new flagship GX, XPeng is also making a larger version of their G9, the G9L, which gets a GX-inspired front and P7-inspired rear. Still gets pop-out handles despite them being outlawed soon, and will likely be EREV/EV, and two-rows to rival the Zeekr 8X.
