Why would Balochs not be angered by the inclusion of the person accused of running death squads against their people at the height of the insurgency in Balochistan? There are whispers now that the notorious Shafiq Mengal seeks a political position in mainstream politics. Today, #ShafiqMengal shook hands with President Zardari, tomorrow he will share the stage with @BBhuttoZardari, @AseefaBZ & other democratic leaders. Whoever is behind it, this is a counterproductive move and an embarrassment for a party of the PPP’s stature to welcome him into its fold.
