Well we spotted an even worse situation and the posts are 50 posts per non-premium and the 500 posting is for direct messages. Yeah for the people saying this isn't a big deal now it just became an even more big deal.

Looking over this closely, the 50 tweets per day limit may be Elon full on realizing the site isn't sustainable with how he wants to run it, especially given that last paragraph says they may throttle it harder. Heavier accounts are now basically being forced to crowdfund him.
