Hi 👋🏾 If you’re in your 20s/30s you have to listen to this. I was in my mid 20s and I bought Wema Bank stock for about N0.50. For years it kept oscillating between 50 Kobo to N1 and slightly more. I got irritated and sold it. Interestingly, I can’t even remember what I did with the sale proceed. If it was significant/important I’d remember. Today, it’s about N26. Over 5,000% return. I want to encourage people in their 20s/30s to play the long term game and invest in the stock market and be patient. These are things to look out 1.) Understand the business Don’t buy a company you can’t explain in simple terms. What does it sell? How does it make money? 2.) Revenue and profit trends Look at whether revenue and profits are growing consistently. 3.) Competitive advantage Ask: what stops competitors from taking over? Strong brands, patents, or network effects matter. 4.) Industry and market trends Is the industry growing or shrinking? 5.) Management quality Leadership matters. Check the track record of the CEO and executives. Poor management can ruin even a strong company.

This my senior colleague has been complaining about his wife, saying she’s been giving him attitude. So, we advised him to take her out. He admitted he had never done that since they got married. We suggested he try it on a Sunday evening after church. This morning, he came to tell us how it went. After church yesterday, he drove straight to a mall. On the way, his wife kept asking,"Daddy, what's going on?" She was so unfamiliar with the idea of an outing that she thought something was wrong. When they got to the mall, he looked around and saw families everywhere. Couples walking with their children. He said he stood there and felt ashamed. He told his wife and kids to pick anything they wanted. This morning he came into the office beaming. He even bought snacks for the whole office.
