👍🏻I support the merger of @warnerbros and @paramountco. I’ve dreamed of that happening long before the 2025 even came, and I believe more positives will come out of the two companies merging than negatives. I want the merger to happen, no matter what.

@HenryForLA @bivens83306 That’s exactly my point, though. Because they’re Democrats, the only reason they’d be making this lawsuit is because they have a shady ulterior motive for doing so. They’re little more than a group of fat cats wanting the world to cater to their every whim.

@InstantSecrecy @bivens83306 Pretty much all the states bringing this lawsuit are controlled by Democrats. I've personally thought the Democrats should've been doing this more years ago, but better late than never.

Good. The monopolization of media has been nothing but terrible for all of us. We need more politicians willing to bring the anti-trust hammer down on these corporations.

A coalition of 12 states have filed a lawsuit to block the Warner Bros/Paramount merger. The coalition includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and Washington.

@bivens83306 Every leftist I know railed against that deal too and has been calling out media conglomeration for years now. It is 100% about monopolies.

@BedoyaUSA Mister, you’re as wrong as someone who thinks mayonnaise & peanut butter go well together. The Communists you made mention of will obviously lose. The merger has already been set in motion, has been unanimously approved, everything.

Just read the complaint. This is a strong, traditional lawsuit - no frills, no untested theories. Just the recognition of the obvious fact that if you combine two of the biggest five studios, they're going to feel less pressure to make new films. If you merge one company that owns an alphabet soup of channels with another company that owns an alphabet soup of channels, people will pay for that on their cable bill. The billionaires who own Paramount win, you lose, your local movie theater loses, and all the people who make film and television lose, too. I think @AGRobBonta, @NewYorkStateAG James and their colleagues will win this, and anyone on Wall Street who is pricing this otherwise should take a moment to read the lawsuit.

It's official: the lawsuit against the Paramount-WBD merger has been filed. The merger will likely be paused for the foreseeable future, allowing Paramount's debt to continue to climb. 12 states, led by California, have signed on.

@LoganRidenbaugh Says the guy who’s overly intolerant towards those who don’t share his political beliefs and does quite a bit of trolling himself. Hypocrite.

@LoganRidenbaugh Yes, you’re correct on me being the troll of this situation. A rather cynical one at that.

@Animated_Antic Actually, that’s bad news. If the merger doesn’t go through, then the only thing left for Warner Bros. to do would be to close down. Their previous announcement to split from Discovery was clearly a sign that they’re too weak keep going forever, so they’ll die afterwards.

@LoganRidenbaugh Yay. If only the same could be said for the live-action “How to Train Your Dragon”. That remake basically did EVERYTHING the “Moana” remake did, and it’s successful! And people LIKE that obvious hunk of garbage?! WHY?!

@EpcotEnthusiast Yep. Frankly, I’ve seen movies that I consider to be far worse, and some are ones that other people ironically love.

I had never seen FROZEN II before this morning and I don’t expect I’ll ever watch it again. What a boring, convoluted mess. The film is so preoccupied with its anti-colonial allegory that it veers into propaganda and forgets the first rule of storytelling: be entertaining. And with the lone exception of “Into the Unknown,” the songs are surprisingly uninspired and forgettable.

@Zack_ROo @IREAD2DAMNMUCH @TheJonathanSim Nope. Pretty sure I’m referring to the live-action HTTYD movie. Heck, even IF Toothless’s appearance was exactly like how he looked in the animated film, he was literally cringeworthy to look at. He clearly wasn’t able to translate well in live-action form.

#Moana (2026) is PATHETIC! A shot-for-shot, line-by-line remake without a single original idea. A creatively bankrupt cash grab with ZERO interesting direction. They don't innovate; they imitate. Why watch this when Moana (2016) is on Disney+?! A soulless, miserable financial decision. SKIP!

@Zack_ROo @IREAD2DAMNMUCH @TheJonathanSim More like it was too “uncanny valley effect”. The dragons may have seemed realistic, but they barely had any sense of personality & expression in their appearances. As for the sets…they were cheap & uninspired looking to where it was clear they were fake.

@InstantSecrecy @IREAD2DAMNMUCH @TheJonathanSim Totally disagree with you but I guess this's why movie rating & experience are subjective They did a tremendous job with the budget they had & the sets they built I guess what you mean is that you didn't like the style or was too stylised for you For me it was unique & different!

@edwardbrgr Whether everything translates well in live-action for HTTYD hardly matters. The real question is whether the remake ever provided anything new or different to say, and from what I’ve seen from the clips & trailers…it never did. It befuddles me that people even like this garbage.

I already said this before and I'm gonna say it again: I think the main reason critics and audiences are softer on the How to Train Your Dragon remake than Moana, despite both being overly faithful, is that HTTYD simply lends itself far better to live action. Its medieval fantasy setting, human characters, and dragons can actually benefit from a more grounded sense of scale and realism, whereas Moana is so dependent on the colors, exaggeration, and visual freedom of animation that photorealism strips away what made it work. You can watch the HTTYD remake and simply enjoy it as a fantasy adventure on its own, but Moana just looks atrocious and constantly reminds you why it worked better in animation.
