The deal being floated with Iran seems straight out of the Wendy Sherman-Robert Malley-Ben Rhodes playbook: Pay the IRGC to build a WMD program and terrorize the world.
Not remotely America First. It’s straightforward: Open the damned strait. Deny Iran access to money. Take out enough Iranian capability so it cannot threaten our allies in the region.

Virtually the entire upper echelon of the Iranian military and government were killed in this war, and over 6,000 Iranian military personnel were killed alongside them.
Almost the entire Iranian navy has been sunk, and over 200 ballistic missile launchers were destroyed, to say nothing of the infrastructure damage and economic losses that have now befallen the country.
Iran's entire economy is imploding. Inflation is over 100%, food and housing shortages are popping up across the country, the unemployment rate for 18-to 40-year-old men is around 50%, and no one knows whether the nation's new Supreme Leader is even alive.
You can easily argue that none of this was worth a war in the first place. I've certainly made that argument myself. I still don't think this conflict was worth it. But in what possible way could anyone seriously argue with a straight face that Iran is stronger today than it was in January?
Have some damn perspective. You can oppose a conflict without inventing fantasies about how that conflict has played out.

Don’t panic. This is not about peace with the regime. This is an ultimatum to the Arabs.
It’s directed at those who didn’t cooperate enough and whose interests were always served by the regime’s survival. They were free-riding on Israel and US, comfortable in the belief that Israel would do the dirty work for them and neutralize the regime for its own security. That’s why they played games, especially with the Abraham Accords.
This is the final ultimatum. Until a few months ago, the regime was only a problem for the Iranian people, Israel, and the United States. Trump handed the regime enough rope to turn itself into a direct threat to its own Arab neighbors.
Now he is delivering the final warning: he wants “peace“, has no desire for endless war, and his part is done. From here on, the regime’s refusal to cooperate and its continued sabotage across the Middle East ( which is guaranteed) is no longer just Israel’s problem. It is now fundamentally an Arab problem too.
you can always count on ideological stupidity of shiits, and their constant need for external enemies to justify their incompetence and to suppress people. War is a blessing for them. Trump is not handing it to them. Not yet.
There will be no lasting peace with this terrorist regime. Everyone understands that now.
Be patient, have faith. Iran will be free, maybe not immediately, but certainly.

Iranian families are huddled in fear tonight. This talk of “finalizing” a deal with the Islamic Republic is our worst nightmare.40,000+ Iranians slaughtered — for JCPOA 2.0?
Why abandon the path that was finally confronting the regime?
The Strait of Hormuz was never closed. We struck to end the nuclear threat, crush radical Islam, and stop the massacre of our people. Instead we get a fake deal that achieves none of it. The regime will keep slaughtering Iranians and racing toward the bomb. They don’t honor agreements — everyone knows this.
This is defeat. A humiliating surrender by the side that was winning.
I implore you, @realDonaldTrump, @netanyahu and the free world: reconsider. Most Iranians won’t sleep tonight, glued to satellite TV as many don'thave internet. If this deal is signed, history will record the unprecedented shame of a victor choosing surrender.
Free Iran will never forget. Pray for us tonight
