@VikeFans I don't disagree... but, I think you have to take a big swing at a top QB prospect in a depp QB draft (like this year's or next)... and by "big swing", I mean do what you have to do to get the guy the team (Kwesi & KOC) loves

@IrishViking75 I get it. Teddy B had a rating over 80, so did Ponder. You want a QB with a rating over 95 to win consistently. The problem with the swings and misses in round 1 is, you wait 3 years and then start over. Cousins is decent. We could get by with Winston or Garrapolo for less

Observation #6 in Vikings Season Ending Loss to NYG – Kirk Cousins kept Minnesota in the game. No more complaints about him. He is paid market rate for his skill set. Without him, we lose 12-14 games. He is gutty how he hangs in the pocket to wait for routes to clear.

@VikeFans 1st round QBs have (by far) a higher hit percentage. You could draft 3rd (or 6th) rounders every year and still not have a QB for a decade. Change your search to top 10 picks and the win rate becomes much higher. If we're going to trade for a veteran, we might as well keep Kirk.

@IrishViking75 AND you have to hope your #1 pick pans out. 78% of #1 QB picks are so poor they are not on their original team after their rookie deal. Free Agency is the best bet, and then draft a QB in the 3rd round every year and hope one pans out

@PhilMackey This game is 100% on the defense. All this confirms is that Kirk going to Kirk sometimes, but he should have never been in that position. The Giants offense is MAYBE half as good as we made them look.

Kirk Cousins was mostly excellent today. But on the biggest play of the season, he throws a 5-yard checkdown with a defender barreling down on Hockenson.
